In last weeks' piece ` What are Europe's options'? I examined Europe's problem with Islamic fascism and jihad and what options existed for dealing with it.

In the piece, I stated flatly that a number of European leftist parties, like Britain's Labour Party have a vested interest in catering to the Muslim votes that keep them in power and that they were not going to allow any change in the status quo without a bitter struggle...and I also predicted that in a number of places, the native European population was likely to take things into its own hands if their governments were unresponsive.

Here, longtime Joshua's Army member Joyce earns a commendation for sending me a fine essay by the one and only Fjordman in the Brussels Journal called Native Revolt: A European Declaration of Independence.

In the piece, Fjordman documents a number of outrages against native Europeans, outlines the problem with his usual aplomb - and proposes a European Declaration of Independence:

"Europeans are currently subject to worse insults from our governments than the Americans were at that time, being persecuted in our own cities and subject to a government-supported program of gradual cultural eradication. We need a European Declaration of Independence, calling for our emancipation from the bureaucratic feudalism of Brussels and the totalitarian ideology of Multiculturalism. Allow me to write the first draft:

A European Declaration of Independence

We, the citizens of the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, Hungary, (fill in the blanks) demand that the following steps are taken immediately:

We demand that our national governments should immediately and without delay pull their countries out of the European Union, which should be dismantled entirely. European citizens pay up to half of their salaries in direct or indirect taxes to their nation states. If these nations do not control their own borders nor their policies, and they don't as long as the EU exists, those taxes are a scam. National taxes require national borders. If our national borders are not enforced, we have no obligation whatsoever to pay national taxes.

We demand that all documents regarding the Euro-Arab Dialogue and the creation of the Eurabian networks for "Euro-Mediterranean cooperation" between European countries and Arab countries since the 1970s, as documented by Bat Ye'or's work on Eurabia, are published and explained in their full significance to the general public. Those chiefly responsible for this - one of the greatest betrayals in the history of Western civilization - should stand trial, followed by a period of general de-Eurabification of our laws and regulations.

We demand that all financial support to the Palestinian Authority should cease immediately. It is proven beyond any doubt that this has in the past been used to finance campaigns of Jihad terrorism against Jews in Israel and against Christians in territories under PA control. A public statement in support of Israel against Muslim aggression should be issued, and the money that has previously been awarded to Palestinians should be allocated partly to Israel's defense, partly to establish a Global Infidel Defense Fund with the stated goal of disseminating information about Muslim persecution of non-Muslims worldwide.

We demand that the ideology of Multiculturalism should immediately be removed from all government policies and school curricula, and that the state should adopt a policy of supporting the continuation of the cultural heritage and traditions of the indigenous populations. Multiculturalism has never been about tolerance. It is an anti-Western hate ideology championed as an instrument for unilaterally dismantling European culture. As such, it is an evil ideology bent on an entire culture's eradication, and we, the peoples of Europe, have not just a right, but a duty to resist it and an obligation to pass on our heritage to future generations.

We demand that all Muslim immigration in whatever form should be immediately and completely halted, and that our authorities take a long break from mass immigration in general until such a time when law and order has been reestablished in our major cities. We will not accept any accusations of "racism." Many European nations have for decades accepted more immigration into our countries in a shorter period of time than any other people has done peacefully in human history. We are sick and tired of feeling like strangers in our own lands, of being mugged, raped, stabbed, harassed and even killed by violent gangs of Muslim thugs, yet being accused of "racism and xenophobia" by our media and intimidated by our own authorities to accept even more such immigration.

Europe is being targeted for deliberate colonization by Muslim states, and with coordinated efforts aimed at our Islamization and the elimination of our freedoms. We are being subject to a foreign invasion, and aiding and abetting a foreign invasion in any way constitutes treason. If non-Europeans have the right to resist colonization and desire self-determination then Europeans have that right, too. And we intend to exercise it.

If these demands are not fully implemented, if the European Union isn't dismantled, Multiculturalism isn't rejected and Muslim immigration isn't stopped, we, the peoples of Europe, are left with no other choice than to conclude that our authorities have abandoned us, and that the taxes they collect are therefore unjust and that the laws that are passed without our consent are illegitimate. We will stop paying taxes and take the appropriate measures to protect our own security and ensure our national survival."

This kind of pushback is going to become a lot more organized in Europe in the future.

Playing for time - President Bush on the 4th anniversary of the Iraq War.

Today, President Bush marked the fourth anniversary of the Iraq war with a five minute address. It was notable ( as with many of the President's recent speeches) for it's perfunctory, matter-of-fact tone..almost as if he couldn't wait to deliver his bit and leave.

The president started by reiterating what he felt had been accomplished in Iraq - the toppling of Saddam Hussein and `the threat his regime posed to the Middle East and to the world' and the Iraqi elections and constitution.

The president talked about Iraq's democratic leaders that `are now working to build a free society that upholds the rule of law, that respects the rights of its people, that provides them security and is an ally in the war on terror.'

He neglected to mention that what they're really building is an Islamist republic based on sharia and a Shiite government that is ethnically cleansing its Sunnis..and as for being an ally in what the president persists in calling ` a war on terror' perhaps he hasn't been paying attention to what al-Maliki, al Sadr and the majority of the present Iraqi government are saying about their desire to bond with their jihad buddies in Iran.

The president went on to talk about the surge strategy:

"... our most important mission is helping the Iraqis secure their capital...so with our help, Iraq's government is carrying out an aggressive plan to secure Baghdad. And we're continuing to train the Iraqi security forces so that they ultimately take full responsibility for the security of their own people."

Hey, it's been 4 years and billions of dollars later and we're still `training' these people? What ever happened to the thousands of Iraqis we've already supposedly trained?

President Bush went on to discuss conversations he's had with al-Maliki and General Petraeus, that `good progress has been made but that {...} success will take months, not days or weeks."

As one of those signs of progress, the president had the stones to mention the Kurds signing on to a deal that will distribute their oil revenues throughout the rest of Iraq, a direct violation of the sovereignty agreement they signed - but a recognition of reality by the Kurds that the US is on the way out and that they need to grease the Shiite wheels in order to survive in the new Iraq.

The president then went on to discuss some of the current legislation bouncing around congress that would tie the emergency funding for the war that the president wants to a timetable for withdrawal or to special interest legislation, and `pork' spending for various Democrat congressional districts:

"..They have a responsibility to ensure that this bill provides the funds and the flexibility that our troops need to accomplish their mission. They have a responsibility to pass a clean bill that does not use funding for our troops as leverage to get special interest spending for their districts. And they have a responsibility to get this bill to my desk without strings and without delay."

No argument there, Mr. President - but how much of this money is actually for US troops and how much of it is funds for Iraqi aid, baksheesh and `nation building'? And again, aren't we entitled to an in depth accounting of where the money we spent so far has gone? Or would that perhaps reveal some uncomfortable truths about our `democratic ally in the war on terror?'

The president wound up by again saying that victory in Iraq is vital to American security, that a premature withdrawal would result in a violent bloodbath that would end with the terrorists emerging with a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they had in Afghanistan...and essentially asking his fellow Americans, one more time, to stay the course.

Well and good...but if this is true, why are we essentially turning a blind eye to the Shiite ethnic cleansing and marginalization of the Sunnis? Why did the president OK the immigration of thousands of Iraqi Sunnis into the US, if what's being built there is as the president said `a free society that upholds the rule of law'? Why would it be necessary for the Sunnis to flee this democratic paradise? Why have 3.5 million Iraqis left already? And if the government of Iraq is going to become `an ally in the war on terror', why is the government so friendly to Iran, a country Bush admits is the biggest sponsor of Islamic terrorism in the region?

Ok...no one is going to ask President Bush these kind of pointed questions, and maybe it wouldn't be fair to. But a little more candor would be nice.

Fact is, the president's conditions for `victory' - a democratic Iraq that is stable and is an ally of the US in the War Against Jihad is an impossible scenario. Maybe, if we had secured the country properly, put a strict US military government in place and not allowed the Shiites and their Iran backed militias to take power - but not at this point.

It may end up being stable, but it will neither be democratic or an ally against jihad for America, not unless Iran is suddenly out of the picture, and maybe not even then. If we really wanted a democratic ally in the War against Jihad, we had the Kurds - except for the fact that it would upset `Our Eternal Friends' the Saudis.

We've made a deal with the Shiites for a reasonably graceful exit in exchange for a chunk of aid money and allowing them to continue to consolidate their hold on the country.

Perhaps the president feels he just can't come out and admit that just now, but it would be nice if he came with some other, more credible way of explaining it to the American people instead of these transparent distortions.

In fact, it would help quite a bit.

Move it, yah big baboon! - or, scenes from the class struggle in South Africa...

Think you have problems with the neighbors? It's Baboons vs. humans in South Africa!

On Cape Peninsula at the very tip of South Africa, urban development has cut off a troop of 350 baboons from territory where they used to roam free and forage for food - so instead, they now hunt for food in the trash cans and kitchens of the humans who have taken over their former neighborhood. Some days, areas in the Cape peninsula look like they had been the scene of a massive food fight, with overturned trash cans and shredded garbage bags galore.

Needless to say, the humans aren't happy.

Carlo Volbrecht, a home owner, said "They've been inside my house probably five times. They've defecated all over the place. They open the fridge, they take food from the cupboards, and cause damage in the process."

"Baboons broke through my roof, entirely destroying the ceiling, and entered the room where my infant son was sleeping," said Volbrecht.

Volbrecht and other local homeowners have formed the Baboon Free Neighbourhood Action Group, which favors either fencing off the baboon tribe or relocating them to a remote reserve.

Other residents want the government officials cull — kill — the baboons. Unfortunately, they're a protected species, so some residents have taken the law into their own hands. About 30 Cape Peninsula baboons were slaughtered in the area last year, either by shooting or by poisoning.

Of course, there are activists involved who disagree. Jenni Trehowen heads a group called Baboon Matters, which monitors baboon activity ( and presumably snitches on anyone they catch using forceful means to drive the baboons off their property).


"We have a fantastic opportunity to learn how to live alongside another species," she said. "It doesn't take a lot to adapt our lifestyle to that of the baboon. Keeping your rubbish contained...You don't have to like baboons. You certainly don't have to like bears or coyotes like you've got in America, but if you could learn to accept that they are here, and they have a right to be here."

She added, "What small steps do we need to adjust in our lives so that we can actually all enjoy the planet together, rather than thinking we are the dominant species therefore we own it all. I don't think it's right, we've got to change that."

Volbrecht of the Baboon Free Neighbourhood Action Group responded:

"We've been told by authorities not to let your kids play in the garden while having food of any sort. That's ridiculous," he said. "You can't have your kids not enjoy a cool drink or a packet of chips in your own back garden. I can't entertain anymore because the baboons have lost all fear of humans and as soon as food is around, so are the baboons....they don't belong among human beings. It's not good for the baboons, and it's not good for the people."

The baboons did not return phone calls asking for comments and declined to be interviewed for this story.

Hamas: Hey, we ain't no sellouts,bubba!

While a large chunk of the gullible West seems willing to swallow the fiction of the new Palestinian Unity Government, Hamas is going to some lengths to ensure the Islamist brothers that nothing has changed when it comes to Israel.

“There isn’t a chance any Hamas leader will ever recognize Israel,” said outgoing Interior Minister Said Siam. “We will not betray our values and we will not betray our land. We will leave this world as shahids (martyrs) without recognizing Israel.”

Hamas spokesperson Dr. Ismail Radwan also declared that Hamas’ values had not changed. Hamas considers resistance operations to be a strategic option to respond to the enemy’s crimes, Radwan declared.

This seems to follow along the lines Hamas PM Ismail Haniyeh expressed, when he said that `resistance' ( terrorism) against Israel was the core of Hamas strategy against Israel and would be exercised 'at a time and place of our choosing.'

Hamas underlined that today with an attack by a Palestinian sniper they took credit for near Kibbutz Nahal Oz, north of the Gaza Strip which moderately wounded an Israeli man, Koby Ohayon, an employee of the Israeli Electrical Company who was conducting infrastructure work at a gas terminal near the kibbutz.

And just a few hours after the shooting incident, Hamas was linked to another terrorist attempt when Egyptian security forces captured a Hamas homicide bomber at the border awaiting orders to carry out a suicide bombing in Israel.

Nor is this duplicity limited to Hamas, as I've pointed out many times.

Money quote:“Today we start a new stage in our national struggle towards establishing an independent Palestinian state. This is the struggle started by the shahid (martyr) Yasser Arafat, and which we are coronating today on the day of our national unity.”

By none other than `moderate' Mahmoud Abbas, just last Saturday.

The EU and the US begin warming up to the new Palestinian government...

The so-called `Quartet' has proven once again that Islamic terrorism isn't Islamic terrorism if it's directed against Israel.

The US, and the EU are already making overtures towards the PA, and some countries are even going further than that.

The US, for instance, in spite of all the rhetoric about not dealing with terrorists has stated it will maintain an unofficial communication channel with Salam Fayad, Palestinian Finance Minister even if the unity government would not recognize Israel, would not abandon its commitment to terrorism and would not end violence against Israel. Hey, we have to make sure the Palestinians continue to get their jirzyah from the West unless we want our `Eternal Friends' the Saudis mad at us.

And the future foreign minister of the Palestinian Authority, Ziad Abu Amer has received an invitation for an official visit in France from none other than French Foreign Minister Phillipe Doste-Blazy.

Not only that, but French and British officials announced today that that their countries would have diplomatic relations with the new government - but only with the Fatah terrorists.

As I reported previously, the Russians are already on board, and aren't even making any distinction at all between Hamas and Fatah.

Neither is Norway. Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr St re, in a statement posted on the Norwegian Foreign Ministry's Web site, said that Norway will "re-establish political and economic relations with the Palestinian government."

Needless to say, this is a despicable stance, but to be expected from one of the most consistently anti-Israel nations in Europe.

The idea of giving the jihadis Israel in the hopes of being left in peace is a fallacy,but it seems to be deeply ingrained in some places.

Given Norway ( and the EU's) problems with their restive population of Muslims immigrants, those particular chickens will doubtless come home to roost in a most unpleasant way before too long.

Freedom Fighter talks to Weekend Monkey

My friend and co-conspirator Weekend Monkey recently blew back into town after spending some time on the road in his campaign for the Democrat nomination for president. I found what he had to say very revealing about the sorry state of politics here in America during this campaign season...

FF: Hideho, Monkey. Looks like you got back in time for St. Pat's after all.

WM: Yeah, I needed to chill out for a couple of days, maybe see if I can set up a fundraiser or two.

FF: I haven't seen you work this hard since that time you got your tail caught in my vacuum cleaner!

WM: Yeah, yuk it up Buckwheat.

FF: I'm just messing with you Monkey. So how's the campaign coming?

WM: Well, there's some good energy happening...

FF: I notice that you haven't made it on to the Sunday shows or talk radio, and I don't see much in the way of press coverage..though I thought the `Larry King 'show was killah, except you didn't get much time.

WM: Yeah. It comes down to this - a lot of the primates who run the news and the media won't take me seriously, just because I'm a monkey. It's like there's some kind of glass ceiling, some kind of conspiracy. I mean, there are hotels that won't even admit me, can you believe it? Here, in 21st century America?

FF:Nah, you're kidding me...

WM: No, really! It can get really discouraging sometimes.

FF: I can imagine..can Kerry or Teddy help?

WM: I can't even get to Teddy Kennedy anymore since they let him out of rehab. The guy has handlers a mile thick...

FF: Wow, I thought you guys were tight..

WM:...and since that check he gave me when we were both uh-recuperating, nothing. And as for Kerry, we're still buds, but he hasn't exactly endorsed me yet - I think maybe he wants to see which way the banana falls before he commits himself, if you know what I mean. So right now, I'm kinda on my own.

FF: Monkey, you want some advice?

WM: Sure, why not?

FF: OK... Look...you started this campaign on some of Kerry's misappropriated campaign funds, that check you got from Teddy when you were both in rehab and a shoestring, and to be honest, I'm surprised you've done as well as you have. But you need to turn it up a notch, and plan better.

The college tour was great, and I bet it was a lot of fun (WM hoots and thumps chest) and you maybe even got a few supporters, but that not going to get you over the top. You need to decide what your message is and who your constituency is. I like the `no primate left behind' bit, and the stance you have as an outsider. You need to expand on that, take advantage of the rage and disaffection out there. The way I see it, there's a lot of space for a maverick monkey - nobody really likes too many of the people that are running so far. And for sure, you need to get yourself a staff - a proper campaign manager, a press person, a couple of good speechwriters, some organizers to get your name on the ballot for the primaries. And a couple of moles to dig up dirt on your opponents.

And you need to remember who your friends are, and take advantage of the media sources you already have. I mean, LarryKing would probably have you back on his show if you handled him right, and I'm pretty sure that was Arianna Huffington who called in when you were on - maybe you should try getting in touch with her. And I've always given you coverage on this site, even when you've been to busy to write the `Real Banana', post articles from the road or do the Friday signoff.

WM: Hey, I did it the signoff this week.

FF: I know, and I appreciate it. But if a large part of the dinosaur media is ignoring you, you need to go around them..and you need to create a groundswell of support big enough so that they can't keep ignoring you.

WM: What you say makes a lot of sense, Primate. Except, I don't really have the funds for much of a staff right now. I mean, it's not like I could afford Carville or Bob Shrum.

FF: Trust me, you don't want those guys anyway. Just find someone you can trust to help you take care of business.

And cheer up Monkey. Nobody ever said this would be easy - and look how far you've come already! Kick back, enjoy the now, and relish the journey.

WM: FF...you're alright, y'know?

Freedom of speech in Britain - and `tolerance' by the Religion of Peace

What's more, not only is the University considering disciplinary action but the students have been questioned by the police and may even be prosecuted.

One has to wonder at what is going through these people's politically correct and closed minds...

Has Olmert been pressured into a Munich settlement for Israel?

The currents in the Middle East always flow quickly and darkly underground, and surface when one least expects it...especially when it concerns Israel. And there are several indications that the `Munich moment' I've been predicting for Israel may be approaching.

The first piece of the puzzle is the Bush Administration's apparent acceptance of most of the premises of the Iraq Study Group, and especially the linkage of pressuring Israel into a `comprehensive peace settlement' with the Palestinians with extricating the US from Iraq or achieving stability in the region.

This is a line the Saudis and the Arab League have been pushing for quite some time, so it's no wonder that long time Saudi lobbyist and Bush family consigliere James Baker, who chaired the ISG included it in the report.

The next piece of the puzzle was the Saudi engineered Palestinian summit in Mecca , which totally overturned the Bush Administration's Middle East policy and created a unified terrorist entity out of Hamas and Fatah inthe Palestinian Authority....followed by the almost unprecedented meeting of Iran's President Ahmadinejad and Saudi King Abdullah in Riyadh , kicking another prop out from under the Bush Administration's fantasy of a Sunni Bloc assembled against Shiite Iran.

Finally we have the recent positive noises made by Israeli PM Olmert and his cabinet meeting March 18th and his foreign minister Tzipi Livni regarding the Saudi/Arab League `Peace' Plan and Livni's comments intimating that a `modified Arab proposal' is a good starting point for negotiations.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the plan, it involves a retreat to Israel's indefensible pre`67 borders including giving up East Jerusalem and the Jewish Holy Sites, the unconditional release of thousands of terrorist murderers in Israeli custody and the resettlement of millions of genocidal `refugees' and their decedents in what's left of Israel - in exchange for which the Arab League promises undefined `normal relations'...at least for the short time Israel would remain in existence.

Nor, as Livni and Olmert fantasize is it merely a starting point to negotiations. No less than Saudi Foreign minister Prince Saud al-Faisal described as “ludicrous” the Israeli leader's recent suggestions that the 2002 plan could be renegotiated or changed in any way when the Arab Summit convenes in Mecca on March 28th.

I think we can pretty much take this to the bank.

My take on this? I think Israeli PM Olmert is under increasing pressure ( if he hasn't already succumbed) by the Bush Administration to deliver Israeli acquiescence to all or most of the Saudi plan, including going to direct final status talks with the new Fatah/Hamas Palestinian government. The Saudis and Jordan appear to have convinced President Bush to lean on Olmert and Israel in exchange for cooperation on the Iraq and Iranian issues.

This, of course, eliminates the whole basis of Oslo and the Road Map - that the main prior conditions for any final status talks with the Palestinians was recognition of Israel and an end to Palestinian terrorism and violence.

In other words, it's no longer `land for peace' any more. It's land for what might be a temporary ceasefire. And given the Arab attitude, any minute deviation from the Saudi Peace Plan will be - naturally- an excuse for further hostilities and terrorism.

With Olmert's situation in Israel and his general weakness of character, it's not to difficult to guess that he might see the resulting turmoil and political upheaval in Israel as a smokescreen to divert the country from things like his corruption trials or the commission convened to apportion responsibility for the problems with the Lebanon War.

As I pointed out a long time ago, these tactics are nothing new and have been used before .

I only hope I'm wrong.

The Beast has a new unity government

France's Douste-Blazy makes nice to Abbas and Haniyeh


Palestinian capos Ismael Haniyeh and Mamoud Abbas have finally announced the formation of a new Palestinian unity government based on the Mecca Summit. The two mafia families of Hamas and Fatah have agreed to cooperate to share the spoils of the new aid they expect to get as they prepare for the next round of the War against the Jews .

Predictably, the first countries to roll over for the new terrorist entity were Russia and France.

Ziad Abu Amr, the new foreign minister, said he received a letter from his French counterpart, Phillipe Doste-Blazy telling him that France will support the unity government.

Russia on Thursday also praised the formation of a new government.

"Moscow welcomes the creation of the Palestinian Authority coalition government," Foreign Ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said in a statement. "It is inarguably an important event in terms of consolidation of the Palestinian ranks."

This was an important coup for Hamas, because it means that both Haniyeh and Abbas will attend the Arab League's Mecca summit on March 20th.

While Israel and the US have rejected this transparent legitimization of Islamic terrorism so far, I wouldn't be surprised to see the US and Olmert warm up to the new mob setup after the boys get back from Mecca with the backing of the Arab League - and the Saudis. The US is still operating under the fantasy of creating a Sunni Bloc to oppose Iran and Olmert won't take much arm-twisting, no matter how deadly it is for Israel.

Make no mistake, our Eternal Friends the Saudis had this scenario planned out far in advance.

Al-Jazeera - Muslim Brotherhood mouthpiece

In today's New York Sun, Steven Stalinsky, the executive director of the Middle East Media Research Institute has an informative piece entitled`Al-Jazeera's Dirty Little Secret' that explores JihadTV's connections with the Salafist al-Ikhwan movement, aka the Muslim Brotherhood.

For those of you who don't know, the Muslim Brotherhood is the parent organization of Hamas and CAIR, as well as the organization behind the assassination of Egypt's Anwar Sadat and a number of other terrorist outrages.

The article contains a number of moderate Arab sources who recognize al-Jazeera for exactly what it is....a propaganda tool for jihad. And one that, amazingly, we allow to operate freely during war time.

Ahmadinejad to speak at UN

Now here's how to do `sanctions' - let a genocidal racist freely into America, as our State department tells us that the US will approve the Iranian president's request for a visa to speak at the UN when the Security Council convenes to vote on sanctions.

According to State Department spokesmouth Sean McCormack the United States has approved a visa for Ahmedinejad previously and is obligated to do so again as host country for the United Nations...another reason the US ought to reconsider its status as a host.

Or maybe we can have some `students' take Ahmadinejad and his delegation hostage and hold them until our demands are met.

Rings a bell, does it? Not that I could ever imagine any civilized nation doing such a thing...

UN draft on second round of Iran sanctions agreed on - as Russia and Iran have a falling out over money

Some interesting developments in the Iran nukes soap opera lately...

For one thing, the UN Security Council has finally agreed on a draft resoluton for another round of sanctions for Iran if the mullahs don't cease uranium enrichment.

The draft text, which may be adopted as early as next week,supposedly includes provisions like a ban on exports of arms from Iran and a freeze on the assets of key Iranian officials. also calls on all nations and international financial institutions not to enter into new commitments for grants, financial assistance and loans except "for humanitarian and developmental purposes".

It doesn't impose a mandatory travel embargo on Iranian officials engaged in nuclear activities but it does require nations to notify a Security Council sanctions committee if such officials pass through their territory.


The existing sanctions that were in place last December ordered all countries to stop supplying Iran with materials and technology that could contribute to its nuclear and missile programs. Needless to say, UN member Russia kept doing business as usual..until recently.

As I reported in Short Takes - Joshua's Army News update, 2/20/07, the Mullahs and Russia have had a falling out, not because of sanctions or because of any moral considerations...but simply because of the money.

Apparently, Iran has missed several payments worth a total of over $70 million for the construction of Iran's first nuclear power station at Bushehr - so the Russians have slowed work on the plant. In fact, some observers are flatly saying that Moscow has reportedly pulled the plug and is losing Patience With Iran.

"Atomstroiexport has not received money for two years, due to a lack of financing from the Iranian side," the Russian state-owned contractor said in a statement on Monday.

The Iranians, of course, complain that their payments are up to date and are accusing the Russians of defaulting.

Russia was supposed to start the delivery of fuel rods in March, the reactor was to be complete by September, and to be up and running the following month. And you'll remember that the Russians fought like dogs to except Bushehr from the UN sanctions in December. Now, it looks like the schedule has been delayed...if the project even gets completed at all.

Have things changed? is the honeymoon over? Has Putin belatedly realized that the Iranian missiles could hit Moscow as well as Europe or Israel?

Maybe. Or it could simply be that Iran did in fact default onits payments, given their economic woes.

As for Ahmadinejad, he was in fine form over all this.

"You are wrong if you think you can sit and draft ... something in order to isolate the Iranian nation," he said. "Not only are you unable to hurt Iran, but you would further isolate yourselves and make yourselves more hated."

Responding to the latest threat of sanctions Ahmadinejad said: "What is the aim of issuing such resolutions? Today we are mastering the nuclear fuel cycle completely. If all of you (Westerners) get together, and call your ancestors from hell as well, you will not be able to stop the Iranian nation. You sanctioned us in the past but we obtained the nuclear technology. Impose economic sanctions on us today and see what would be our next step."

Sounds like he's a little put out.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed admits responsibility for 9/11

Not that any sane person had doubts but al Qaeda mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed admitted responsibility' for the Sept 11 attacks and a host of other evil deeds.

In a transcript of a hearing conducted at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp, Mohammed stated, "I was responsible for the 9/11 operation, from A to Z".

The Pakistani allegedly also says he was responsible for a 1993 attack on New York's World Trade Centre, the bombing of a Bali nightclub in Bali and an attempt to down two American air planes using shoe bombs.

"I was the operational director for Sheikh Osama Bin Laden for the organising, planning, follow-up, and execution of the 9-11 operation," Mohammed said through his representative, according to the transcript.

(*sarcasm on*) Of course, the 9/11 `truthers' were still probably right. Mohammed is just a CIA plant working for the Mossad. (*sarcasm off*)

I would only point out, additionally, that when Lebanon was at least 50% Christian, it was a stable democratic and prosperous nation. That ended when Yasir Arafat and the PLO moved in and set up a defacto country within a country there, followed by Iran's establishment of Hezbollah, which drove many of the Christians out - and now it's a hellhole.

Food for thought...

5. The Sundries Shack: Here are the Moderate Muslims This week, Jimmie Bise focuses on the very undereported Secular Islam Summit in St. Petersburg, Florida and wonders why the US government doesn't have a presence there. Simple, Mr. Bise: This administration prefers to hang with the Saudis and the Islamist groups they fund like CAIR and the MPAC.

9. Vile Reuters at it again: Bookworm Room This week, Mrs. Bookworm takes on al-Reuters and their ridiculous reporting on the hemorrhage of Christians from the Palestinian areas - which, if you believe the Palestinian stringers who write for al-Reuters is Israel's fault.

Melanie Phillips, in fine form

From across the pond, BlogPal Canker: has a fine account of a speech by author and commentator Melanie Phillips (do read `Londonistan') on the current War Against Jihad we're engaged in but are trying to ignore as hard as we can..

A brief sample - the British Lion still roars in some quarters:

People have short memories. They think this all started with 9/11. But the jihad against us started back in 1979, when Ayatollah Khomeini established his theocracy in Iran and declared his intention to wage war upon the west and subjugate it to Islam. At the time, we weren’t listening. But this ignited political Islamism around the world, gave rise to the rival Wahhabi version in Saudi Arabia, ushered in a procession of terror attacks against western interests throughout the 80s and 90s, and exported Islamic theocratic rule as a global project.

At the same time, Britain and Europe experienced a mass influx of Muslims as the borders opened and the poor south migrated en masse to the north. The problem was that, unlike other immigrant groups, successive generations of Muslims have failed to integrate and instead try to colonise their host countries – a programme of subversion for Europe that has been explicitly laid out by the Wahabbi Muslim Brotherhood for the past 30 years.

In 1978, the Organisation of the Islamic Conference sponsored a seminar in London which said Muslim communities in western countries must establish autonomous institutions with help from Muslim states, and lobby the host country to grant Muslims recognition as a separate religious community as a step towards eventual political domination:

In Britain in 1980, a book called the Islamic Movement in the west by Khuram Murad advocated an ‘organised struggle to change the existing society into an Islamic society…and make Islam…supreme and dominant especially in the socio-political spheres…’ A document seized in Switzerland in 2001, known as The Project, outlined a 12 point strategy to ‘establish an Islamic government on earth’. And the Muslim Brotherhood has now set up an intricate network of bodies across Europe to put all this into action. {..}

What should be done? Simply, this. We all have to grasp that terrorism is not the biggest threat we face. The biggest threat is the ideology that drives it. It’s not enough to fight terror, vital though that is. The principal battleground is the world of ideas. {...}"

Read it all...and take the time to absorb it.

The Darfur jihad continues...

12 year old Darfur rape victim

The Sudan continues to resist any UN peacekeepers or international presence in Darfur to put a stop to the jihad being waged there with the express assistance of the Sudan's government.

The US criticized the Sudan's continued stonewalling, of course, calling it "not acceptable to the international community."

This comes at the end of a full round of negotiations and proposals between the US, the AU, the UN and the Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir...all of which ended up coming to absolutely nothing as the killing continues.

The only surprising thing about that is the continued efforts to engage the Sudan in `diplomacy' by the West. It should be obvious by now that the Sudanese government is simply playing for time until the problem is liquidated and thus no longer a problem.

Meanwhile, Sudan is using its friends in the UN to block a U.N. report that specifically says that the Sudan's government "has manifestly failed to protect the population of Darfur from large-scale international crimes, and has itself orchestrated and participated in these crimes," adding that "war crimes and crimes against humanity" were continuing in the region.

The bottom line? Every reputable source agrees on what's going on in Darfur, and that the Sudan's government has played a major role in orchestrating the jihad. At the same time,any efforts to actually do anything about it in a forum like the UN are going to be impeded by the Muslim bloc and by Russia and China.

I still hold with my original solution for Darfur, the one I proposed 6 months ago.... arm the people of Darfur so they can defend themselves and kill as many jihadis as possible.

If that solution had been implemented then, there might be a lot more dead jihadis and a lot more live people in Darfur.

Halliburton relocating - to Dubai!

Some more under-the wire news - Halliburton is moving its corporate headquarters and relocating it's CEO to Dubai.

As part of the process, Halliburton will sell off its hugely profitable subsidiary, Kellogg, Brown Root, who specialize in building military bases.

Halliburton's official reason for the move is, according to chief executive Dave Lesar : "One of the things that we would like to pursue is a listing of our shares in the Middle East. We see there are greater opportunities in the Eastern Hemisphere than the Western Hemisphere.''

The unofficial reason is to avoid millions in taxes...and I also sense something a bit different going on.

I've never been one to particularly demonize Halliburton for those famous no-bid contracts, since anyone familiar with the Federal bidding process understands that time was of the essence in Iraq, the company had already submitted what are known as contingency bids and Halliburton was one of the few corporations (and in some cases, the only one) capable of handling certain problems. Most Americans conveniently forget that it was Halliburton who contained the oil fires during both the first and second Gulf Wars, preventing an economic and environmental catastrophe.

That being said, there are ongoing investigations over Halliburton deliberately overbilling the government for its services and dealing with Iran and other suspect countries in violation of US law. Given how well connected the corporation is in the White House, these investigations were not exactly pursued vigorously prior to the `06 midterms and the Democrat takeover of the House and Senate.

Now,in one of the few good results of Congressional turnover, they are being pursued vigorously (to say the least), and CEO Lesar and other corporate officers are particularly vulnerable to suppoenas and service of process...something they obviously want to avoid like the plague.

Then of course, there's all that tax liability they're scuttling out on....after overbilling the government for huge profits, and making even larger profits on those huge profits.

And to top it all off, Halliburton is privy to a great deal of classified security information and they are running to a country with significant ties to Islamic terrorism....the same country that the the Bush Administration
wanted to manage our ports.

I can almost palpably sense a quid pro quo in the making....Halliburton keeps its mouth shut on national security items they may be privy to and clams up on any possible collusion within the government in exchange for a certain - uh- `tolerance' for some of its more questionable deeds.

This stinks to high heaven.

We are going to have to decide, as a nation where to draw the line on this sort of thing. During WWII, a number of companies were sanctioned, penalized and even seized under the Trading With The Enemy Act, a fact the Bush family in particular should be aware of and sensitive to.

As for Halliburton, I suggest that its chief officers' passports be restricted and its records impounded until Congress finishes its investigations. That is certainly nothing legally out of the ordinary. If nothing else, giving Halliburton a tax bonus on profits they may have made by bilking the American taxpayer is simply horrendous.
