London 7/7/05 bomber: `This is just the beginning'

`Oh, to be in England...'

One of the homicide bombers who struck London's transit system a year ago said in a video broadcast today that the attacks were "only the beginning."

This video footage was recorded before he died and is now being broadcast on Jihad TV (AKA Al-Jazeera) for the first time today, Tanweer says: "What have you witnessed now is only the beginning of a string of attacks that will continue and become stronger until you pull your forces out of Afghanistan and Iraq and until you stop your financial and military support to America and Israel."

Gee..sitting in JihadTV's vaults all this time and just being aired now? Must be sweeps week or they need the ratings.

The video also shows masked men training in what it claims are al-Qaeda training camps. It then shows a group of men firing gunshots into the air after they apparently heard of the success of the London bombings. A printout of a map of London is shown, and then a hand holding a black pen draws a circle on the centre of the city.

Lovely people, aren't they?

This is the second video that al-Jazeera has plyed from the British homicide bombers. In September, JihadTV played a video from another one of the four bombers, Mohammad Sidique Khan.

In that video, Khan claimed that the British themselves were to blame for the terror attacks because of their support for Western governments which "continuously perpetuate atrocities" against the Islamic world.

"We are at war and I am a soldier," Khan had said.

Well, at least they are honest enough to admit they're at war with us...

The Keystone Kops, AKA the British police were critical of the motives for releasing the video today. Just a coincidence, of course.

Andy Hayman, Scotland Yard’s Assistant Commissioner, said: "There can be no doubt that the release of the video at this time can only cause maximum hurt and distress to the families and friends of those who died on 7/7 and the hundreds of people who were injured in the terrorist attacks."

"We are sure that the overwhelming majority of all communities are united in condemning any attempt to justify last year’s terrorist attacks in London."

Ummmmmm, I wouldn't lay money on that if I were you, Assistant Commissioner. Take a look around.
