A Song Of Corruption In Washington - How Crony Capitalism Really Works
Here's an interview by Glenn Beck with my friend Peter Schweizer on his hot new book, Throw Them All Out, a brilliant expose of how the Obama Administration raped the American Treasury out of billions to reward Obama campaign donors and bundlers via 'green energy' scams. Like Solyndra, and Robert Kennedy Jr.'s Brightsource
The book also details how corrupt congress members use their knowledge of pending legislation to do insider stock trading that would be illegal for private individuals, and use their influential positions on various committees to milk campaign contributions and get access to the inside track on Initial Public offerings ( IPO's ) of hot stocks worth millions not accessable to the general public or even many stockbrokers.
Ex-Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a good case in point. Others include Senator Diane Feinstein ( D-CA), our old pal Senator John Kerry ( D-MA), and of course Rep. Charlie Rangel.
Nor is it just Democrats, although they're by far the most prominent, especially since President Obama took over. At Schweizer relates above, an influential GOP Congressman who was ranking member of a key committee during the 2008 financial crisis was actually using sensitive information to short specific stocks - in essence, he had a financial interest in the US economy declining.
This sort of obscene plundering of the taxpayers is business as usual in Washington, and those whom realize it sometimes form an interesting political juxtaposition...like former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Left leaning WAPO columnist Dana Milbank, both of whom have items up on the subject you should take the time to read.
If the OWS crowd had the brains G-d gave a goat, they wouldn't be occupying Wall Street - they'd be occupying Congress, and stalking President Obama at his fundraisers.

i would have used crony socialism in the title of this essay, but then again, it ain't my blog now is it?
setting aside for a minute the fact i'm getting more pissed by the day that gov. palin is not running for president, no one on the left will see anything wrong with this activity, and no one on the right is going to pay any attention to it.
no one is going to call these "perps" on this. madam botox will be re-elected in a landslide. and to a person their defense of this activity is they did nothing illegal.
imo this is just the tip of the iceberg, of what i call the unholy alliance between big government and big business, and it is killing mainstreet america.
repeating, no one is going to call them on this. no one.
gov. palin didn't seek the nomination of the repub. party because she knew the repubs would sabotage her campaign.
and romney is not the answer to this problem. would i prefer four more years of the america hating hussein?
no.
but that doesn't change the fact that romney is not the answer.
i certainly hope and pray that the dumber than a sack of hair american electorate surprise me and vote in more tea partiers to the house and send a few more to the senate as well.
but i am still madder than hell that gov. palin is not in this race.
independent or not.
The level of corruption, cronyism and cover-ups in our country is starting to resemble Nigeria or a banana republic.
Consider also what just happened in a federal court in Texas. In this case, As described at http://LawInjustice.com , a Dallas business owner was involved in a civil dispute and paid millions of dollars to lawyers, and when he objected to additional fees after settling the case, they had a "friendly" judge, appointed by President Clinton, seize all of his possessions, without any notice or hearing, and essentially ordered him under “house arrest” as an involuntary servant to the lawyers and denied a jury trial. The business owner has been under this "servant" order for 10 months and is prohibited from owning any possessions, prohibited from working, etc..
"If the OWS crowd had the brains G-d gave a goat, they wouldn't be occupying Wall Street -they'd be occupying Congress, and stalking President Obama at his fundraisers." I couldn't agree more. While Wall Street corruption is and has been a problem, it is insignificant compared with Congressiona corrupton and corruption from other sectors.
I think this is why Congressional figures have egged this on for so long. They would much rather misdirect the energies of the American people and to direct that away from themselves. Also, Congress people generally hate Wall Street. This makes the protests and added benefit to them.
As long as the contineu in what they are doing, this really costs them nothing. So a few of them get arrested, they are lauded as heroes in the media. Whereas to stalk President Obama at his fundraisers might actually involve some risks and might actually costs them something. Besides most of them likely voted for him any way and will likely do so again.
Or they'd be doing the strategically correct thing of forcing Obama's hand, clarifying if it doesn't play their way, no more mister nice guy (for the minority of OWS who poll as pro-Obama.)
