Jesse Jackson Jr. To Do Jail Time

http://www.suntimes.com/csp/cms/sites/dt.common.streams.StreamServer.cls?STREAMOID=a_TnVc3qiJusg9AN4qp_Ds$daE2N3K4ZzOUsqbU5sYszJdcSlrDHKSe0vk8WlYH1WCsjLu883Ygn4B49Lvm9bPe2QeMKQdVeZmXF$9l$4uCZ8QDXhaHEp3rvzXRJFdy0KqPHLoMevcTLo3h8xh70Y6N_U_CryOsw6FTOdKL_jpQ-&CONTENTTYPE=image/jpeg

Former Chicago Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr.'s corrupt behind is headed for jail.

Jackson had already resigned from Congress last November, just weeks after he won re-election. He'd held the seat since 1995, taking it from congressman Mel Reynolds, who resigned after he was convicted in a sex scandal.

Busted for extreme misuse of campaign funds for his personal lifestyle,he's copped a plea which reportedly involves what's described as 'significant jail time'.

Even more interesting, a second federal investigation has begun involving Jackson's wife Sandi,a former Chicago alderwoman who also is reported to have sticky fingers. She allegedly had unlimitee access to Jackson's campaign account, and there's evidence of money being switched back and forth between his account and hers.

Now here's the thing...none of these busts are related to Jesse Jackson Jr's. attempt to buy Barack Obama's senate seat from former Governor Rod Blagojevich, who's now also a guest of the feds. But there are questions about that transaction that never quite got answered.Jackson’s longtime friend and donor, Raghu Nayak was reportedly Jackson's emissary to Blagojevich. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Nayak told authorities that Jackson made Blagojevich a $6 million offer and also said he could take advantage of his friendship with Obama to arrange a Blagojevich pardon if it ever were to be necessary.

Walk with me awhile.

While Rep. Jackson always denied being involved in bidding for the vacant seat, he did admit having what he described as a social acquaintance that Nayak paid to fly from Washington D.C. to Chicago and back at Jackson’s request.

Now, who was that masked man...or woman? Remember this? ( originally from the Sun-Times but the link's down the memory hole)

A top aide to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich said he believed Barack Obama knew of Blagojevich's plot to win himself a presidential Cabinet post in exchange for appointing Valerie Jarrett to the U.S. Senate.

John Harris, Blagojevich's former chief of staff, testified Wednesday in the former governor's corruption trial that three days after the Nov. 4, 2008, presidential election, the ex-governor told Harris he felt confident Obama knew he wanted to swap perks.

"The president understands that the governor would be willing to make the appointment of Valerie Jarrett as long as he gets what he's asked for. . . . The governor gets the Cabinet appointment he's asked for," Harris said, explaining a recorded call.

Harris said Blagojevich came away believing Obama knew what he wanted after having a conversation with a local union representative, who in turn spoke with labor leader Tom Balanoff, with whom Blagojevich met to discuss a Jarrett appointment. Jarrett, now a White House adviser, was seeking the appointment to Obama's Senate seat.

Defense lawyers say Harris' testimony contradicts the government's previous public statements that Obama knew nothing about deal-making involving the Senate seat appointment.

The defense on Wednesday moved to force the prosecution to turn over FBI reports of Obama's interview with federal agents in December of 2008. Obama is not accused of wrongdoing.

"Testimony elicited by the government from John Harris and wiretaps played in court raise the issue of President Obama's direct knowledge and communication with emissaries and others regarding the appointment to his Senate seat," lawyers wrote in the filing.

The filing came on the trial's third day of the extensive playback of recordings in which Blagojevich is heard repeatedly discussing ways to personally capitalize on his Senate seat appointment power. Blagojevich could be heard plotting to try to head up a charity; swearing and snapping at his wife, Patti, and dismissing the possibility of a federal position that pays $190,000 a year.

"I make $170 . . . So Fred, that has no appeal to me . . . I want to make money," Blagojevich tells national Democratic consultant Fred Yang. "I might as well go out and find a way to make money."

Obama's 2008 internal report about his staff's contacts with Blagojevich at the time indicates that Balanoff relayed to Jarrett that Blagojevich was interested in a Health and Human Services Cabinet post.

But wait, there's more...Obama's consigliere David Axelrod slipped up in an interview back in 2008 and admitted that President Obama and Governor Blagojevich discussed the vacant seat..after President Obama denied ever speaking to Blagojevich about the matter!

Now, what else would they discuss besides a possible appointee - and the price? These two politicians had done business before and knew each other quite well.

Where am I going with this? Simple. Jesse Jackson Jr. has inside knowledge of what went on here. The likely scenario (and admittedly, I'm speculating) is that Blagojevich either wanted too high a price for the seat, or maybe the president felt he was too dirty to pass scrutiny for the post he wanted, or he decided Valerie Jarret was more valuable to him in DC.

What would be more natural than for President Obama to call his long time friend and political ally Jesse Jackson Jr., tell him Valerie Jarret wasn't interested any more but that Blago had the seat up for sale and to offer to send a trusted emissary from DC that all of them knew to go to Balgo and set up the deal?

Why not grill Jackson to see what he knows and offer him immunity to testify? It'd be more fun for me personally than him simply doing a little white collar-style time in Allenwood or somewhere similar until Obama pardons him.

The 'New' Obama Strategy - Keep Repeating The Same Garbage In Negative Ads, Hope It Sticks

Stung by his execrable performance in last night's debate, Obama's Chicago campaign thugs have evolved what they call a brand new strategy. Except, of course, it's not new at all.

They're simply going to (a) mobilize their media lackeys to demonize Mitt Romney at every turn (and his religion will by no means be out of bounds), (b) deluge the airwaves with negative, inaccurate ads knowing the Obama Media isn't going to challenge them, (c)make sure President Obama repeats the same programmed, stale talking points from his teleprompter and (d) beat up on the next two debate 'moderators', CNN's Candy Crowley and CBS' Bob Scheifer in advance to make they intervene actively to help President Obama as much as possible. The sharing of the debate questions with the president in advance so he can rehearse is not out of the question.

They're going to go unbelievably negative, hoping that if the same nonsense get repeated often enough, they can convince people that it's true.

In other words, they're going to follow Chris Matthew's advice and start channeling MSNBC.

There are a number of problems with this approach.

The first one is that this is nothing but the Obama campaign's strategy warmed over. They have been puling this garbage since it became apparent Mitt Romney was going to be the nominee, and it's all old news now. L:ast night, Mitt Romney effectively deconstructed the heartless plutocrat, Gordon Gekko persona the Obama campaign spent hundreds of millions of dollars to build. A record 67 million people saw the debate last night, more people that voted for Obama in 2008. The Obama narrative was revealed as the tissue of lies it always was and the impression of Mitt Romney as a competent, intelligent, concerned and decent human being is not going to be dispelled over the next 32 days. The contrast between fact and fiction was just too great.

After last night, the president is finally going to have to find a compelling reason for people to vote for him besides 'Romney is Hitler'. He was challenged directly on his miserable record as president and for the first time, people saw him react to that challenge like a vampire does to a cross. Merely demonizing Romney isn't going to work by itself any more.

The second problem is that while it's going to please his leftist base and send tingles up Chris Matthew's leg, going negative cuts deeply into Obama's likeability, such as it is.

I personally see President Obama as having all the charm and humanity of a Soviet commissar, to put it mildly. This is the same man who avidly supports denying babies who survive an abortion medical care wants to ration healthcare for the elderly and was giggling over his coming Superbowl party in his toasty warm office while 54 people. mostly women, kids and old people were freezing to death in Kentucky.

But some people, goodness knows why, consider him 'likeable'. largely because of of the image his media lackeys have fostered for him. Going MSNBC and giving vent to his natural hostility, arrogance and temperament risks losing all that. And that can be a death stroke in a presidential campaign - just ask Al Gore. Or to see how popular this approach is likely to be in general, just look as MSNBC's ratings.

Michelle Obama's Unintentionally Revealing Speech

http://images.rcp.realclearpolitics.com/154678_4_.jpg

The headliner at last night's DNC was First Lady Michelle Obama.

Her speech was a well rehearsed attempt to match Ann Romney's speech at the Republican convention and emphasize a kinder, gentler Barack Obama who understands the struggles ordinary Americans go through because they both were "raised by families who didn't have much in the way of money or material possessions but who had given us something far more valuable – their unconditional love, their unflinching sacrifice, and the chance to go places they had never imagined for themselves."

She spoke about the hard times they had as a couple, when Barack Obama took her out on dates in a car that was rusted out, and how his proudest possession was a coffee table he found in a dumpster.

And she talked about how “Barack was raised by a single mother who struggled to pay the bills, and by grandparents who stepped in when she needed help.”

Of course, to anyone who knows anything about the Obamas and their background, that part of the speech was sheer smoke and mirrors, however well delivered.

Both Obamas, in fact, started out with what most of us would call a real boost up the ladder.

Barack Obama's grandparents didn't 'step in to help' when Stanley Anne Dunham was struggling to pay the bills to raise him. The truth of the matter is that she essentially abandoned him with his typical white grandparents while she went off to seek her bliss in places like Indonesia and barely raised him at all in the usual sense of the word for most of his childhood.

Nor was the young Barack Obama exactly raised in poverty. His grandmother worked as a bank president and made enough of a decent salary not only to support her grandchild and his grandpa, who worked sporadically, but to put Barack Obama through Punahou Academy, one of the most expensive and exclusive private prep schools not only in Hawaii but in the United States.

Michelle Obama's family was hardly downtrodden either. Her father had a relatively decent paying job with the City of Chicago and was a well connected ward leader for Chicago's ruling Democratic party, with all that entails - Michelle used to babysit as a teenager for Jesse Jackson - and she was jumped ahead of the line in order to get into Whitney Young, a public magnet school that caters to Chicago's upper strata.

Which of course is how these things normally work in Chicago. You work for the party at election time, and in exchange you get certain benefits and quid pro quos.

Both Obamas went to exclusive private schools. In Barack's case, he started out at Occidental, a private and by no means inexpensive liberal arts school in Los Angeles. From there, he apparently went to Columbia, although no one who was there at the time seems to remember him and we've never seen any transcripts.

After that, with the aid of Malcolm X's lawyer Percy Sutton and ex-Black Panther member Don Warden AKA Khalid Al-Mansour, he got into Harvard Law School.

In Michelle Obama's case, she was able to get into Princeton and later attended Harvard Law School as well.

When she and Barack Obama met, they were both lawyers working at Sidley Austin, an influential and high level law firm in Chicago, and both were making decent salaries. In fact, they were doing well enough that after they married, they were able to purchase a then pricey $277,500 two-bedroom condo in a good neighborhood in Chicago in 1993.

Aside from the Obama's salaries, they also enjoyed income from the advances and royalties on the sales of Barack Obama's books, and you might recall Michelle Obama admitting in a speech in 2008 that the proceeds from 'Dreams of my Father' effectively retired any student loans they had outstanding.

As Barack Obama entered politics and got elected to the Illinois State Legislature, things got even better. Michelle Obama's law license was revoked by the Illinois State Bar for reasons that have yet to be disclosed, but State Senator Barack Obama and Michelle's own Chicago connections enabled her to get what amounted to a cushy no-show job at a salary of $121,910 as 'Vice President in Charge of Community Relations' with Chicago University Hospital.

That salary leapfrogged to $316,962 for the same job when Barack Obama became a senator in 2005, and just coincidentally, one of Senator Obama's first acts in office was to see to it that the hospital received over a million dollars of your tax dollars as an earmark.

Michelle Obama moved on to the White House after almost a year on leave at full salary so she could campaign , and that vital job of hers, worth a salary of over $300 K was quietly eliminated.

As the Obamas became more prosperous, they also decided to upgrade their residence. Somehow, with the help of Tony Rezco and some arrangements that mysteriously coincided with building permits obtained for what turned out to be substandard housing projects put up by Rezco and Saddam Hussein's bagman Nadhni Auchi, the Obamas succeeded in buying their Hyde Park Mansion in Chicago for $300,000 less than the $1.95 million asking price, right at the height of the real estate boom in 2006, something more than a little bit unusual in a seller's market with prices on the rise.

My point here is not to be excessively mean spirited, but to point out that when Michelle Obama talks about hard times, hard work and responsibility, her reality of what those words mean is quite different from most Americans.

Unlike Mitt Romney, who created prosperity for others besides himself, Barack Obama went into politics to do good and both he and Michelle Obama ended up doing pretty well for themselves on the public's dime. And if you recall the lavish lifestyle and five star vacations the Obamas have pursued in the White House while millions of Americans are struggling financially, they still are.

Michelle Obama's speech went over well with the Obama media and the folks at the convention, but given the Obamas well documented past, will it resonate well with the bitter clingers in flyover country as people recall the last four years?

Somehow I don't think so.

Democrats' War On Women: "Ann Romney Never Worked A Day In Her Life"

It's going to be an ugly campaign season.Trashing a candidate's spouse is now apparently fair game as Democrat operative and part time media talking head Hilary Rosen attacked Ann Romney on CNN today, saying 'Ann Romney never worked a day in her life'.

Rosen, describes herself as a 'separated Lesbian single mom', but she obviously doesn't know that being a stay at home mother is no life of ease no matter what your circumstances, particularly with the number of kids the Romneys have. A lot of couples from all kinds of backgrounds and circumstances make the choice to have one parent stay at home because they feel it's better for their kids than daycare, and these days, it's not always mom.

Even further, her comments reveal the Left's default contempt for women who make that choice.

And lest you believe the spin this was just some talking head going off on her own, the White House log reveals that Rosen has been to the White House 35 times, including five meetings with President Obama.

By way of comparison General David Petraeus, currently head of our CIA has been to the White House 9 times. And Former CIA director and current Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, 12 times.

This attack was planned by the campaign, and only when it didn't poll well did Rosen get tossed under the bus by David Axelrod and campaign head Jim Messina.

More proof? Look at how President Obama set this up in advance a week ago:

“And then there’s the woman who once me advised me at the law firm in Chicago where we met. Once, uh, she gave me very good advice. That’s why I decided to marry her. And once Michelle and I had our girls, she gave it her all to balance raising a family and pursuing a career. And something that, could be very difficult on her, because I was gone a lot. Once I was in the state legislature, I was teaching, I was practicing law, I’d be traveling. And we didn’t have the luxury for her not to work.

Yes, they simply couldn't get by on $160,000 per year.

I recall, oh,back in 2006, President Obama making a big deal about leaving his wife alone after certain comments she made that were a tad controversial concerning her pride in being an American. I ordinarily would let this lie, but since the president brought it up, let's examine the nature of Michelle Obama's 'work'. Her license to practice law in Illinois was revoked for reasons that have never been revealed, but she was the spouse of a prominent, up and coming Democrat politician and the daughter of a well connected ward leader in Chicago so...certain arrangements were made.

She obtained a position that apparently was created especially for her as 'vice president of community relations' at the University Of Chicago Hospital for a nifty salary of $121,910 right after Barack Obama entered the Illinois state legislature.

It gets better.

When Barack Obama became a U.S. senator in 2005, her 'salary' leapfrogged to $316,962 for the same job...and one of Senator Obama's first acts in office was to see to it that the hospital received over a million dollars of your tax dollars as an earmark.

After going on an extended leave of absence from her 'job' for months on full taxpayer- paid salary to be an important part of her husband's successful 2008 presidential campaign, Mrs. Obama moved up to the White House. But her position back in Chicago was deemed so vital and important for the day to day functioning of the hospital that they didn't even bother hiring anyone as 'vice president of community relations' to replace her. Yes, that vital job of hers, worth a salary of over $300K was quietly eliminated. Just like it all never happened.

Yes, this is the president of the United States, comparing his wife's Chicago-style quid pro quo no show job to Ann Romney's staying home to raise her kids. Not only is it embarrassing. It's embarrassing he's not embarrassed.

Hilary Rosen, apparently on orders from on high finally 'apologized' on the order of, 'gee, I'm sorry you got offended.'

This is only going to be the beginning. Expect Mrs. Romney and every one of Governor Romney's children to be Palinized by these vicious, indecent people and their media lackeys. It's simply not in their nature to be anything else.

Issa Investigating Sweetheart Loans To Congress - And A Flashback To Obama's Loan

Along with his investigation of a number of instances of Washington malfeasance, Re. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is now pulling the cover off of 'VIP' loans at rates and terms unavailable to the public made to influential members of Congress and their key staff members.

In a letter to Reps. Jo Bonner (R-Ala.) and Linda Sanchez (D-Calif.), the chairman and ranking member of the House Ethics Committee, Issa stated that he has evidence that four members of Congress got such loans via the now defunct Countrywide Financial in a program called in house by the name 'Friends of Angelo', named for Angelo Mozilo, Countrywide’s founder and former CEO. And that they may have transferred this 'benefit' to favored staff members:

“Documents reviewed by the Committee show that four current members of the U.S. House of Representatives received loans through this VIP program,” Issa said in his Dec. 16 letter to Bonner and Sanchez. “In accordance with this Committee’s policy to forward information relating to possible wrongdoing by Members of Congress to the appropriate ethics committee, I write to bring the existence of these loans to your attention.”

Issa added:”Between January 1996 and June 2008, Countrywide’s VIP unit gave discounted loans to employees of the federal government including the U.S. Congress… My staff is also aware of the possibility that loans with VIP-benefits were conferred to other Members, and serviced by a separate loan processing branch.”

House ethics rules require that lawmakers and staff may only accept “loans from banks and other financial institutions on terms generally available to the public.

While Issa didn't name the four legislators he had in mind, Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y.), the former chairman of Oversight and Government Reform, has already acknowledged that he got two loans through the 'Friends of Angelo' program. Which of course, he claims he was unaware of!

Two others likely on the list are ex-Senator Chris Dodd,(D-CT) AKA 'Mr. Financial Integrity' and retiring Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND), both of whom got sweetheart loans through Countrywide and were casually 'investigated' a while back. Since Dod is already gone, that would leave two more sitting members of Congress Issa is talking about.

Of course, there's another person who got a sweetheart loan back when he was still a sitting senator - and it wasn't through Countrywide.

Yes, that would be the current occupant of the White House, Barack Obama, back when he closed the very interesting transaction he made to buy his Chicago mansion, apparently with the assistance of Tony Rezco...and a very helpful bank:

The freshman Democratic senator received a discount. He locked in an
interest rate of 5.625 percent on the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage, below the
average for such loans at the time in Chicago. The loan was unusually large,
known in banker lingo as a "super super jumbo." Obama paid no origination fee or
discount points, as some consumers do to reduce their interest rates.

The Obama campaign called the rate "consistent with Northern Trust policies, and it reflected the base rate set for that period discounted to address the competition for the account and other opportunities, such as personal financial services, that the relationship would bring to Northern Trust."

It was a pretty good investment on their part, since Northern Trust later received preferential treatment when it came to taxpayer provided stimulus funds after Barack Obama became president..some of which they spent in rather interesting ways. Other opportunities, indeed.

You'll remember the story on the Obama's Hyde Park mansion of course.

The Obamas apparently bought the place for $300,000 less than the $1.95 million asking price, right at the height of the real estate boom in 2006, something more than a little bit unusual in a seller's market with prices on the upswing.

Funny thing, on the same day the Obamas closed, the wife of Obama's chief fundraiser Tony Rezco closed on an adjoining side lot with the same owner for the full asking price of $625,000, which Tony Rezco's wife Rita later sold to the Obamas at a deep discount.

Odd that a developed property with a palatial house on it would sell for a deep discount in a seller's market while an undeveloped lot next door would go for full asking price.

Unless, of course, the seller received full asking price on the lot in exchange for discounting the price of the house, which would reduce the loan amount, down payment, and property taxes the new owner of the house would have to pay....

Chicago baby. I doubt Darrell Issa's going to be investigating that particular transaction.

Obama's Birthday Apology, And A Comic Interlude Featuring Jay Carney

First, we have a nifty excerpt the president's non-political, fact laden birthday speech in Chicago.Note the thunderous applause he receives, his confident demeanor, the flop sweat.

And here, pure comedy gold featuring White House press secretary Jay Carney and ABC's Jake Tapper as Tapper repeatedly asks him what the president is doing to create jobs.Watch as he actually tries to use two mouths to speak from, one telling Tapper that the president is doing a lot to create jibs and the other that he isn't, because that's up to Congress! Hilarious!

You know, when Robert Gibbs left, I wasn't sure the president was going to be able to find someone to match him in sheer funnyman genius, but I'm reassured. Carney lacks Gibbsy's faux malevolence, but replaces it with his rabbit-in-heat sweaty anxiety and is capable of acting just as stoo-pid as Gibbsy at his best. Kind of like replacing Mo of the Three Stoodges with the Don Knotts characterization of Barney Fife on the old Andy Griffith show.

Speaking of jobs and unemployment, the official national rate edged down to 9.1%, an dObama's Labor department is trumpeting that the economy added 117,000 jobs. Oh, but wait a minute..the real numbers show that that fewer people actually were working in July than in June, a drop of 38,000 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

That's due to what the government calls “discouraged workers,” the unemployed who have stopped looking for work. Those numbers spiked from 982,000 to 1.119 million, a difference of 137,000 or a 14 percent increase. But happy days...the 'discouraged workers' aren't included in the Department of Labor numbers.

The 'increase in jobs' is just another fairy tale for spokesmouths like Carney to peddle.

Down To The Wire - The Good, The Bad And The Ugly of The Budget Deal

http://www.funfacts.com.au/images/elephant-tightrope.gif

All the hurt you thought was gone has now returned,
And every thing she's laughing at is all you learned.
And you let go, let go, let go, 'cause you know you're getting tired....Can you feel it getting down to the wire?
- Neil Young, 'Down To The Wire'

The last minute deal to avoid a government shutdown has been completed, and GOP Speaker John Boehner is being touted as a winner in the budget battle in Washington.

He indeed won, but it's worth looking at what the Republicans actually accomplished...and where they fell short.

The $38.5 billion in spending cuts is far below the $61 billion the Republicans originally wanted, but remember that Speaker Boehner initially only proposed $32 billion in spending cuts...and President Obama and Senate majority leader Harry Reid originally wanted no cuts at all, but grudgingly agreed to go along with a mere $4.7 billion in cuts. The end result is $33.8 billion more in spending cuts than Reid and President Obama wanted.

The cuts that were made are more significant than the numbers indicate, because they actually kill programs instead of just lowering their budgets. This means that those numbers will expand over the coming year. And even more importantly the cuts establish a benchmark and create momentum for the real battle to come, the 2012 budget.

President Obama, of course, is taking credit for the spending cuts even though he was out of Washington on yet another vacay. And in a bass akwards way, he's actually correct this time. It was Obama's abysmally stupid move of promising to veto a bill the House passed to guarantee military salaries in the event of a shut down that guaranteed that the Democrats would take more flak than the GOP in the event of a shutdown, and likely gave Boehner and the Republicans the stick they needed to get Harry Reid to cave in. The ploy of holding the troops' paychecks hostage is going to rank as one of Obama's dumbest moves ever, and that is saying something for this president.

And now, since we've looked at the good, let's look at the bad and the ugly.

The GOP promised the Tea Party $100 billion in spending cuts, and were rewarded with a majority in the House and a number of Senate seats. They failed to deliver, and in spite of all the spin about this 'victory', that hasn't gone unnoticed.

The $38.5 billion in spending cuts sounds impressive, but nowhere near what's going to be necessary to dig us out of the hole Obama and his Democrat enablers have put us in. As a yardstick, during the eight days it took to negotiate this compromise, the national debt grew by $54 billion.

If the Republicans are unwilling to do what they were sent to Washington to do, they will not be trusted again by the party's base, which is in no mood for business as usual. The GOP damaged itself here, and they had best realize it and change accordingly.

And speaking of business as usual, remember those riders on defunding Planned Parenthood, public broadcasting and ObamaCare? Remember how we were promised that those were written in stone?

All of them were removed from the budget bill. NPR will be funded as usual, and the funding for both Planned Parenthood and ObamaCare will go to the Senate floor for a vote...where they will likely be easily defeated, even if a few Red State Democrats up for re-election cross party lines.

The real ugly in all this, as far as I'm concerned, was the failure of the Republican leadership to respond effectively to the Democrat's hysteria about 'a war on women' by revealing exactly why the Democrats stood in lockstep to protect NPR and Planned Parenthood's tax payer funding.

And it had nothing to do with 'reproductive rights'. That was simply yahoo drivel to gin up the base. No one even suggested outlawing abortion on demand, but by trying to take the taxpayers off the hook for it, the GOP literally put up a Cross in front of a vampire.

Planned Parenthood, like the public employee unions is an example of how the Democrats operate and how we got into the fix we're in.

Here's how the scam works. The Democrats fund Planned Parenthood (which is essentially an abortion mill) with taxpayer dollars, which they get from everyone, no matter what their political affiliation or their views on the morality of abortion on demand. In exchange for this largess, Planned Parenthood then kicks back a million or so back to the Democrats to get them elected, and provides the bodies to man the phone banks, walk the precincts, be part of rent-a-mobs when required, and chat up the media.

NPR operates exactly the same way. The Democrats use taxpayer dollars to fund what amounts to a partisan propaganda outlet to broadcast their agenda..and again, a not inconsiderable amount of those taxpayer dollars are kicked back to the Democrat's coffers.

It's a parasitical masterpiece that would make the average flea or tick weep with greed and envy...if they could weep.

Now, I may have missed it, but I never heard one prominent Republican make this argument to the American people.Had that happened, the Democrats still would have fought for NPR and Planned parenthood tooth and nail, but an important part of their narrative would be revealed for the cynical, self-serving sham that it actually is

To win the all-important battle of public opinion, these are the sort of points that need to be made over and over again. Especially as the battle against the Leftist agenda intensifies and goes down to the wire with November 2012 approaching.

Like military victories, real political victories are never won by half measures.

Blago: 'Play All TheTapes In Court'

Rod Blagojevitch has a simple request - he wants the government prosecutor to play all the tapes that were made in court, where everyone can hear them. Not ony that, but he claims the government won't 'because there's a smoking gun on there'.

Does he know something we don't?

Blago Retrial delayed - Until After Chicago's Mayoral Election

http://images.politico.com/global/news/100602_emanuel_comp_ap_218.jpg

The retrial of former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich has been delayed until April, which will put it after the February 22 mayoral election in which a certain White House former Chief of Staff will be running.

It's almost certain that Blagojevich's lawyers will seek to subpoena Rahm Emanuel or at the very least depose him over certain conversations involving the ''negotiations' over the appointment to Barack Obama's old senate seat, which the president was reportedly seeking for presidential adviser and long time Chicago crony Valerie Jarrett. Rahm was subpoenaed as a defense witnesses by the defense at Blago's first trial, which ended in a hung jury, but he was never called.

Of course, by April both the midterms and the mayoral election will both be over, which ought to give a little relief to another prominent Democrat, Alexi Gianoullias whose family owned Broadway Bank was just closed by the Feds amid what can only be called massive 'irregularities'. And who's now running for the same senate seat in a hotly contested election.

The feds have Blagojevich's ex-chief of staff John Harris on tape telling Blagojevich in November, 2008 right after the presidential election that "Alexi called me." Harris told Blago that Giannoulias "wants to meet with me a few minutes this afternoon. He says it's . . . I said what's it about? He says the (Senate) seat, 'but not for me, for someone else'."

While Harris claims he never met with Giannoulias, who is a long time friend, fundraiser and supporter of Obama (and along with Obama, a mutual pal of convicted financier Tony Rezco) right after the phone call a meeting was set up between between Valerie Jarrett and Illinois labor leader and Blagojevich supporter and confidant Tom Balanoff, to discuss the vacant senate spot.

That could mean that Jarrett went to the White House afterwards - which would have meant getting Rahm Emanuel involved - and asked them to 'bid' for her if this is the way things went down. That could make for some interesting testimony if Emanuel is grilled by Blago's lawyers this time around.Especially since the feds have Emanuel on tape in various conversations with Blagojevitch and Harris.

Balanoff is the politically active president of both SEIU Local 1 and the SEIU Illinois State Council and the union contributed more than $1.9 million to Blago’s campaign fund. So the dots connect nicely.

Balanoff testified in court that he asked Giannoulias to be the go-between between he and Jarrett and that the meeting took place. For his part Giannoulias admitted being at the meeting, but claims to remember absolutely nothing about what was said.

The interesting part of this entire circus will be the White House reaction. President Obama has been intimately involved with all the principals for some time and the last thing he can afford to do is throw Rahm Emanuel and Alexi Giannoulias under the bus and risk having them get offers of immunity to open up on this and other interesting scenarios.

On the other hand, the White House can hardly come down too heavily on Blagojevich for the same reason. So I don't doubt that a quiet deal is being struck behind the scenes.

The fact that the request to delay the trial until after the elections came from the defense rather than the prosecution suggests to me that certain negotiations are already in play.

Illinois Senate Candidate Giannoulias Suppoened In Blago Trial

As if Alex Giannoulias didn't have enough problems already, he's joined President Obama and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel on the suppoena list for ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich's corruption trial.

It's going to be an interesting bit of testimony.

The White House apparently wanted to put Obama crony and White house adviser Valerie Jarrett in Barack Obama's senate seat, the one Blagojevich is alleged to have attempted to sell (and probably did eventually sell to Roland Burris).

Governor Blagojevich allegedly used an SEIU connection of his to go to Giannoulias, an old Obama crony and fund raiser for an introduction/inquiry to Valerie Jarrett about the seat...which could mean that Jarrett went to the White House and asked them to 'bid' for her if this is the way things went down.

Apparently Giannoulias was actually at the meeting between Jarrett and Blagojevich's SEIU envoy. But of course, he claims to remember nothing about it!

Giannoulias has a history of being at meetings like this and then claiming he doesn't remember anything and wasn't involved in any subsequent proceedings. Blagojevich's lawyers can be expected to grill him pretty thoroughly...which is not good news for Giannoulias' already faltering Senate campaign.

This bit of Chicagoland theater is going to get even more entertaining as it goes on.

Blago Trial Bombshell: Obama Knew Price For Senate Appointment Of Valerie Jarret

Heh! I knew this would end up being entertaining:

Now I wonder...does Rahm Emanuel's connection with all this have anything to do with persistent rumors that he's going to be leaving the White House after the midterms?

After this, I find it very difficult to imagine that a judge wouldn't want the president at least deposed under oath.

Obama Tosses Another Old ChiTown Buddy Under The Bus

http://thepoliticallyincorrectfish.com/pif2/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/finger_of_the_o.jpg

This time, it's Obama's old basketball buddy and Illinois Democratic Senate nominee Alexi Giannoulias who Obama is declining to campaign for in the race for the president's old senate seat:

At the moment, the White House seems open to the idea of losing Obama’s old seat rather than putting the president’s prestige on the line for Giannoulias, the brash and boyish Illinois state treasurer — and onetime Obama basketball buddy — whose campaign has been rocked by the financial meltdown of his family’s bank.

Durbin said Emanuel was sympathetic to his pleas but ultimately noncommittal, telling him that the White House was “considering the race, weighing their options and weighing a decision on what to do.”

Emanuel, a former congressman from Chicago, tried but failed last year to get Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan into the race. Now, he told Durbin, it’s up to Giannoulias to prove his campaign has enough “viability and strength” to warrant Obama’s involvement.

OK, here's the real story - Barack Hussein Obama is not about to get politically involved with convicted financier Tony Rezco's banker, whose family owned Broadway Bank was just closed by the Feds amid what can only be called massive 'irregularities'.

In fact, Obama is fighting right now to avoid being subpoenaed by ex-governor Rod Blagojevich's lawyers in his corruption trial, where the government's chief witness is Rezco and a number of interesting details could come out..about things like conversations Obama or Rahm Emanuel had about a certain senate seat in Illinois, Obama's connections through Rezco with Saddam Hussein's bagman Nahdni Auchi, illegal campaign contributions or how certain substandard housing developments built by Rezco with municipal funds were pushed through. A number of things could come to light once the president is sworn and has to testify under oath.

No, the last thing Obama wants is to be any more involved with his old cronies in Chicago than he already is.

Church Builds Mansion For Jeremiah Wright

There are many mansions, say the scriptures...and it's even sweeter when the flock of shorn sheep pays for it.

The UCC TrinityChurch building a $1 million mansion for Jeremiah Wright on a piece of land it owns worth $345,000.

The mansion will include an elevator, whirlpool, butler's pantry, circular driveway and four-car garage, and it also has frontage facing a golf course, so the genial old racist can shoot a quick nine holes when he's in the mood.

It will also boast a white lawn jockey on the front lawn.*

I seem to remember...wasn't Jeremiah Wright the same man who preached that the trouble with America was 'white greed'?

Even more fascinating for me is the location of Wrights' little piece of ChiTown. It's going to be located in the Odyssey Club neighborhood of Tinsdale Park, an exclusive neighborhood in Chicago that is easily 97% or more lily white!

No mucking around with the brothers and sisters for Pastor Wright....I mean, they have their place and all and I'm sure he appreciates the money they're donating that's making all this luxury possible, but living next to them....well...

See,Jeremiah Wright did get one thing right. Racism pays big time in America. And after all, as we see, he's speaking from something he knows about first hand.

*(the lawn jockey is an optional accessory, according to the building plans)
