Rosie O'Donnell `resigns' from the view

Wanna-be political commentator and `comedienne' Rosie O'Donnell is going to be leaving ABC daytime TV's `The View' when her contract expires in June. Supposedly, she was unable to come to an agreement with ABC on new terms.

I say supposedly because it's pretty common that no name personality signs a one year deal in TV on a show like 'The View' because it take a year to make the ratings and sell out the advertising.

And since O'Donnell came on board, ratings for the show have risen at least 15%, if for no other reason than people watching to see what nonsense comes out of her mouth next.

My take? I think executive producer Barbara Walters finally got fed up and told ABC that it was either her or O'Donnell.

If you're any kind of serious journalist with credentials and end up doing the day in and day out sitting there smiling next to a loud, obnoxious co-host who says that the US government pulled of 9/11 as an inside job and offers as proof the `fact' the heat doesn't melt metal ( !!), sooner or later you have to get tired of being tarred with that kind of stupidity by association.

imo, the 15% increase is due to more people agreeing with her and thinking like her.
