Hamas throws `Islamic democracy' back in Bush's face

Hamas now has a potent and effective diplomatic tactic....making a point of being received and recognized by Arab governments backed by the US.

Saudi Arabia among others are leaning on Iraq's Jaafari to invite the Palestinians' new Hamas leaders as a show of independence from the America.

An invitation from the democratically-elected government in Baghdad to a democratically-elected Palestinian (terrorist) government would place the Bush Administration in an impossible position, after having initiated both elections. Cooperation between the only two elected Arab regimes would be tough to challenge.

Hamas is listed as a terrorist group in the US and Europe. Widespread acceptance and cooperation with Hamas by US backed regimes would make the rhetoric of the Bush administration on the `War on Terror' ring fairly hollow.

As for Israel, its efforts to isolate Hamas would completely fall apart if Hamas' leaders added Baghdad to Moscow, Ankara, Cairo, Riyadh, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar as part of their World tour!
