Duck Dynasty: A&E And Cracker Barrel Cave

Phil Robertson Duck Dynasty

The tyranny meted out by GLAAD and other Christian hating groups appears to be backfiring badly.

After the Robertson family announced publicly that it would be unthinkable for them to continue with the top rated show without their patriarch Phil Robertson, the suits at A&E and Disney, who owns them seem to have had a change of heart...especially after feeling the heat from their viewers, ( a 'boycott A&E' Facebook page received over 1.5 million likes in a matter of a couple of days) and very likely after consulting with their lawyers about what their violation of Robertson's civil and First Amendment rights was likely to cost them in court.

Phil Robertson's suspension is apparently over, and he will return to the show in January. No word on whether a fifth season is in the works, but if it works out contractually and the Robertsons are no longer obligated to A&E, don't be surprised if Duck Dynasty appears on a different outlet.

Knowing how these things work, aside from an apology, I wouldn't be surprised if the Robertsons received a cash somethin' somethin' from A&E/ Disney in order to let bygones be bygones and continue the show.

Apparently the owners of Cracker Barrel felt the heat as well for embracing politically correct tyranny.
Just days after they announced they were removing Duck Dynasty products from their stores, they posted this craven apology:

Dear Cracker Barrel Customer:

When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many of our loyal customers. Our intent was to avoid offending, but that’s just what we've done.

You told us we made a mistake. And, you weren't shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings. You flat out told us we were wrong.

We listened.

Today, we are putting all our Duck Dynasty products back in our stores.

And, we apologize for offending you.

We respect all individuals right to express their beliefs. We certainly did not mean to have anyone think different.

We sincerely hope you will continue to be part of our Cracker Barrel family.

Unfortunately for Cracker Barrel, a lot of folks now realize that they can buy the products in question directly from Duck Commander and bypass an outlet like Cracker Barrel entirely.

Embracing tyranny always carries a price.

So the suspension of a man who said that black people did great during Jim Crow (I know, I know, you agree) is 'embracing tyranny'.

You don't know what words mean, do you?

And if by 'tyranny' you mean mob rule, wouldn't the barrels full of crackers and racists who are boycotting A&E far worse? It doesn't take long when going through your archives to find you taking the exact opposite position you're taking now.

I see...so everyone who considered this a clear violation of Phil Robertson's First Amendment and the 1964 Civil Rights Act and reacted accordingly are all just a bunch of racists, hmmm?

Including me, of course, whom you know nothing about.

Oh, and the bit about "black people did great during Jim Crow"? That's not what he said, and based on context not what he meant, but fortunately I provided in my earlier article on this a link to the except interview in question, so people can judge for themselves.

You'll notice I censored your comment, just a bit. You can't post a 'reference' out of context to something that someone supposedly said like that with no evidence here.Someone else tried the same thing and got the same treatment...or perhaps it was you, just trying to sneak on to the board with a different handle. That's called slander, BTW and it's pretty despicable behavior in my opinion, although SOP for the Left.

In any event, I hope you won't mind me telling you ( like I told your 'friend') that even if you were correct and that was what was said, it would be constitutionally protected speech. Just ask racists like Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton.

But then, you have a problem with the Constitution don't you? And notice, I'm speaking directly to you, not a whole group.

Essentially, 'Kate' you're a fascist, who embraces thought control over people you happen to disagree with. And of course, as a good, progressive fascist, you attempt to demonize the people you disagree with too.Just to try and give yourself some totally unearned 'moral superiority'.

Notice something...it's you and those whom think like you that went nuts and demanded someone be fired. Phil Robertson's proponents merely decided to boycott companies they felt were exercising bigotry against Christians and committing an offense against a man's right to free speech..and letting them know about it. A&E and Cracker Barrel had the freedom to ignore them. But as I mentioned yesterday, first they made one biz decision to placate totalitarians like you and another decision based on how badly that turned out.

I doubt you see the difference between the two, but think about it.

And you're also not exactly too concerned with facts. As anyone who reads this site regularly knows from the last part of your comment.

Ah, well. That would be more than I would expect anyway. All I ask is that you take a moment and think about the implications of what you posted here.

Have a Merry Christmas - oh, wait, I forgot you might not like Christians. Have a nice whatever!

BTW..just out of sheer curiosity, I went ahead and found the video you and the your fellow trolls are yakking it up about, the 'hearts full of murder' one.

As I suspected, the quote was totally taken out of context.

Robertson is preaching about conditions that will exist at the End of Days as mentioned in Biblical prophecy. Along with what the New Testament refers to as 'unnatural relations' it also mentions idolatry and that men's hearts will be 'full of murder.'

There's nothing there about homosexual's hearts being more 'full of murder' than society in general.

La la liars ;)

Oh, and BTW, as I mentioned several times, this is constitutional protected speech.

What a concept, eh?

Some people have no business living in a free society. Too bad the Soviet Union is out of business, but there's always Cuba..or Iran or Saudi Arabia or Gaza if you don't mind burkahs.
