Helen Thomas 'Retiring, Effective Immediately'

http://www.qassam.ps/files/articles/9819ADF62E.jpg

Apparently she was just a little too blatant this time, and it looked bad:

Helen Thomas, the 89-year-old veteran White House correspondent, will retire effective immediately in the wake of her offensive comments on Israel.

"Helen Thomas announced Monday that she is retiring, effective immediately. 'I deeply regret my comments,'" a Hearst Newspapers statement said.

Thomas had come under fire for her statement that Israel should "get the hell out of Palestine" and that Jews should "go home" to Germany, Poland, or the US.

I'm sure if she really needs a job, she can find one working for Hezbollah or Hamas.
The Board of the White House Correspondents Association also issued a statement today calling her comment "indefensible."

The full WHCA statement:

"Helen Thomas' comments were indefensible and the White House Correspondents Association board firmly dissociates itself from them. Many in our profession who have known Helen for years were saddened by the comments, which were especially unfortunate in light of her role as a trail blazer on the White House beat.

While Helen has not been a member of the WHCA for many years, her special status in the briefing room has helped solidify her as the dean of the White House press corps so we feel the need to speak out strongly on this matter.

We want to emphasize that the role of the WHCA is to represent the White House press corps in its dealings with the White House on coverage-related issues. We do not police the speech of our members or colleagues. We are not involved at all in issuing White House credentials, that is the purview of the White House itself.

But the incident does revive the issue of whether it is appropriate for an opinion columnist to have a front row seat in the WH briefing room. That is an issue under the jurisdiction of this board. We are actively seeking input from our association members on this important matter, and we have scheduled a special meeting of the WHCA board on Thursday to decide on the seating issue. "

Helen Thomas' anti-Semitism has been evident for some time. The White house knew about it, her employers at Hearst knew about it and her colleagues knew about it.

This time, it was something that was public enough so it couldn't be ignored, so they pressured her to retire.

'I deeply regret my comments,'"

yeah, and i've still got my Y2K kit handy as well.
no seriously, if i were to say what i wanted to say here ff would ban me in a heart beat.
like if i were to say the sooner this oxygen vampire's body temperature equals room temperature the better off i'll be, ff would hit the ceiling.
so i'm not gonna say it.
on an entirely separate note, is helen thomas monkey boys' mother?
sister?
there is a resemblance of sorts.

ok.
i apologize.
my comments were out of line.
sorta.
even though there is a strong resemblance, i can see how monkey boy would be offended by my comments.
so, this time, i apologize.
'I deeply regret my comments,'"

hey, if you can believe helen, you can believe me...........
what, you thought i was gonna apologize for the other things i said/didn't say about the oxygen vampire?
horseshit.

on a separate note, or, while i'm on a roll .............
i wonder if, given the attention to bribery, er, ah, the chicago way, this s0-called administration has been greasing the wheels of sustaining their majority in the so-called congress, i wonder if hellen retired, only after being assured a position in this administration at a certain level.
now what position would hussein consider for hellen?
i got it!!!!
ambassador to israel.
effective immediately.

I would have preferred if she kept her job. She is trying to make a martyr out of herself so she can claim that the big bad Jewish lobby ruined her career to silence her.

We should send Thomas back where she came from. I'll buy the burqua.

OK, louie is on a roll.
But I want to say as a former Y2K project manager for a now defunct Investment Bank, that I am offended by his comments on his Y2K kit.
I would also like to say to Helen Thomas, "See Ya, wouldn't wanna be ya." I am pleased, but surprised, that this story grew legs, got picked up by CNN and that there were actually consequences. I saw many comments on Foxnews.com to the effect that she was just saying what the current occupant of the Whitehouse was thinking...

not to worry rosey, 12/21/2012 is just around the corner..........and will be milked for everything it's worth.
whoopsie, i did it again.

Before Ms. Thomas encourages Jews to "go home" to the US she will need to consult with several groups of people. Mexico claims as theirs Tesxas and all lands lost as a result of the Mexican-American war and the American Indians claim as theirs the entire land mass that the United States now occupies.

China's leaders have expressed a desire to expand. Canada is extremely cold. As such, Canada is unlikely to be the primary target. The land occupied by the United States is exremely rich in natural resources and would likely be ideal for Chinese expansion. In order for this to work for them, all of the people or most them living in the United States will have to get off of the land. This figures to be quite messy.

Given the Chinese desire to expand and the rich bounty the land being used by the United States has to offer, expansion here seems logical. After all the Chinese military build up goes waaaaay beyond what would be necessary to take Taiwan. As such, I think it is reasonable to conclude China has bigger goals.

The Jews have a better claim to the land that Israel currently resides on than they do to the United States or any European country. Jews have lived on the land that Israel currently resides on far longer than the Arabs have. As the clincher, God has decreed the land of Israel to the Jewsih people.

If Ms. Thomas or any one else wishes to fight God on this, they are certainly free to do so, however, it is not going to end well for them. A much better solution to this impasse would be for the Arab states who surround Isrel to set aside some of their vast holdings of land for the creation of a state of Palestine or whatever they wish to name it. These Arab states have more than ample land and funds to be able to easily undertake this project.
