Editor of France Le Soir fired over Mohammed Cartoons.

The editor of France Soir, who published the Danish Mohammed cartoons in support for free speech has been fired.

The owner, Raymond Lakah (a Muslim??) of the paper has issued a nauseating apology.

France Soir originally said it had published the caricatures to show solidarity with other European papers like Die Welt who did the same, to promote freedom of speech and to show that “religious dogma” had no place in a secular society.

But late on Wednesday its owner stated he had fired managing editor Jacques Lefranc “as a powerful sign of respect for the intimate beliefs and convictions of every individual”.

Lakah said: “We express our regrets to the Muslim community and all people who were shocked by the publication.”

The president of the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM), Dalil Boubakeur, said that France Soir’s publication of the cartoons was an act of “real provocation towards the millions of Muslims living in France”.

My guess is that the `disaffected youth' were getting a bit frisky again and the molotov cocktail factories started ramping up production.

No sense risking Le Jihad Francais Deux over a little thing like freedom of speech, n'est pa?

Pathetic.

Yes, and it happens all the time.

For instance, a British paper did a cartoon with amazing anti-Semitic stereotypes showing Ariel Sharon eating a baby.

And PETA, an American organizaton ran ads making fun of the Holocaust.

I know, I know, Jews run the world..except they don't.
