Brit MEP Daniel Hannon Warns Us Against Creeping Socialism

You remember Daniel Hannan, of course..the conservative Brit politician who eviscerated Britain's socialist PM Gordon Brown as "..the devalued Prime Minister of a devalued government" in a classic and brilliantly eloquent Parliamentary flogging.

Here he is again in a brilliant speech at the Heritage Foundation, warning America about going down the same neo-Marxist path and detailing what can be done to stop the damaging process. A bit long, but well worth your time, trust me.Hannan starts the fireworks at about 4:30.

A major hat tip to those midnight sun burnt revolutionaries at Tundra Tabloids

  • The New Obamacare Strategy - "Co-ops"

Having taken a beating on government run healthcare, Obama and his minions are going to try and sneak it by labeled as 'co-ops'. You'll be hearing that word a lot in the near future.

In the real world, co-ops are private organizations ostensibly supported and run by and for the members, who pay a fee to use a service. AAA, certain credit unions or your local organic produce co-op are examples. But that's not the kind of 'co-op' Obama has in mind.

This is simply the so-called public option with a new, poll-tested name. It's indistinguishable from Obamacare because it's going to likewise benefit from the use free capital robbed from the taxpayers whether they use the system or not.

This is similar to the way Japanese companies took over whole segments of the US economy in the 1980's.The Japanese government subsidized exporters with interest free loans so they could afford to undercut the competition and drive them out of business to acquire market share. After which, of course, the price can go up, and rationing can be instituted.

And of course, one reason the Japanese were able to afford to do that is because they undervalued their currency and made consumer goods highly expensive in their home market, basically mandating savings the government could draw on to continue the process. That didn't end well for some very good reasons, and unlike '80's Japan, our currency doesn't really have any room to be revalued without producing Weimar level inflation.

The so-called co-ops will also benefit from the fact that the federal government will be making the rules that govern all insurance companies. Does anyone actually think the Obama Administration won't slant the rules to favor Obamacare and put private companies out of business?

The government isn't involved in 'competition' with private business when the government is subsidizing its own government program and is also writing the rules.

And not a word about tort reform, the real boogeyman behind rising costs.

Nor is anybody saying anything about the ultimate price tag involved, or what effect free healthcare for illegal aliens will have on increasing a problem that's already out of hand and a major drain on the economy.

Don't be fooled by these con artists.Keep the pressure up on your congressmen.

Mike Huckabee: "The US Shouldn't Be Telling Jews Where To Live"

"It concerns me when there are some in the United States who would want to tell Israel that it cannot allow people to live in their own country, wherever they want" - Mike Huckabee, speaking from Jerusalem.

Ex-Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee has always been a plain spoken supporter of Israel, among his other attributes.Presently, he's in Jerusalem criticizing the Obama Administration's policies towards the Jewish State, and is scheduled to make a speech in East Jerusalem's Shepard's' Hotel, a Jewish owned property where two families of Arab squatters who weren't paying their rent were recently evicted after a court decision.

While the Obama Administration has no problem trying to tell Jews where they can build homes and own property, they have absolutely no problem with illegal Arab construction - or the Arab purchase of land in Israel through foreign buyers.

Obama Drops White House Snitch Line

Well, I have to admit this made me chuckle maliciously:

Following a furor over how the data would be used, the White House has shut down an electronic tip box — flag@whitehouse.gov — that was set up to receive information on “fishy” claims about President Barack Obama’s health plan.

E-mails to that address now bounce back with the message: “The email address you just sent a message to is no longer in service. We are now accepting your feedback about health insurance reform via: http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck.”

The “flag” service was introduced Aug. 4, with a White House blog post saying: “There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said at a briefing shortly after the service launched: “We're not collecting names from those e-mails. … [A]ll we're asking people to do is if they're confused about what health care reform is going to mean to them, we're happy to help clear that up for you. Nobody is keeping anybody's names.”

That's just another whopper from Obama's spokesmouth. Under US law any data colected in this fashion must be retained. And as for not keeping anyone's name, once the Obama Administration has you e-mail address its a simple matter for them to access your name, IP address and any other information you gave out connected with establishing your e-mail account - your home address, for instance, and even your credit card numbers.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.), chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, wrote a letter to Obama raising privacy concerns about what the senator called an “Obama monitoring program.”

“I can only imagine the level of justifiable outrage had your predecessor asked Americans to forward emails critical of his policies to the White House,” Cornyn wrote. “So I urge you to cease this program immediately.”

In a later statement, Cornyn said: “Of course the White House is collecting names. … [I]t is inevitable. Anyone with access to the flag@whitehouse.gov account has access to the names and email addresses that are collected in that account. … How are they purging names and email addresses from this account to protect privacy?”

Well, Senator Cornyn, I don't think they are going to be deleting anything.Aside form it being illegal, it's obvious that just as Obama has a database of his supporters, he now has a database for his 'enemies' list. And oh yeah, part of that enemies list is a whole slew of people from Nigeria and other places with very interesting business propositions for the Prevaricator-In-Chief....culled from my e-mail spam blocked list and duly sent to flag@whitehouse.gov as 'fishy'. From a public computer, of course.

You know me, anything I can do to help.

Retreat From The Public Option - Obamacare Begins To Crumble

The walk back from Obamacare has begun, with key Democrats admitting that the 'public option', AKA the part of the bill designed to force private insurers out of business simply isn't going to fly:

A key Senate negotiator said Sunday that President Barack Obama should drop his push for a government-funded public health insurance option because the Senate will never pass it.

Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota said it was futile to continue to "chase that rabbit" due to the lack of 60 Senate votes needed to overcome a filibuster.

"The fact of the matter is there are not the votes in the United States Senate for a public option. There never have been," Conrad said on "FOX News Sunday."

I guess somebody isn't willing to queer his chances for re-election by ignoring his constituents. And he's not the only one. Even Obama's leftist Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has changed her tune all of a sudden:

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said providing citizens with the option of government-run insurance isn’t essential to the Obama administration’s proposed overhaul of U.S. health care.

“What’s important is choice and competition,” Sebelius said today on CNN’s “State of the Union.” The public option itself “is not the essential element.”

If she's talking this way,you can take it for granted that it's coming directly from the Bossman.

What it amounts to is that Obama and his minions realize that the tribe has spoken, and the numbers aren't in his favor. And the flak is coming from his own party...the Democrats have the numbers to pass absolutely anything they want to - provided they're unconcerned about the consequences come election day.

Look for a rearguard action to try and preserve as much of this bogus legislation as possible while still saving Obama's face.

Britain: Public Swimming Pools Enforce Muslim Dress Code On Non-Muslims

Want to go to a public swimming pool in Britain? Then you'd better be prepared to wear a swimsuit that caters to Muslim sensibilities, like the burkini pictured above:

    ..across the UK municipal pools are holding swimming sessions specifically aimed at Muslims, in some case imposing strict dress codes.{...}

Croydon council in south London runs separate one-and-a half-hour swimming sessions for Muslim men and women every Saturday and Sunday at Thornton Heath Leisure Centre.

Swimmers were told last week on the centre's website that "during special Muslim sessions male costumes must cover the body from the navel to the knee and females must be covered from the neck to the ankles and wrists".

    There are similar rules at Scunthorpe Leisure Centre, in North Lincolnshire, where "users must follow the required dress code for this session (T-shirts and shorts/leggings that cover below the knee)". {...}

The practice of holding special Muslim swimming sessions has led to non-Muslims being turned away.

David Toube, 39 and his five year old son Harry were last year refused entry to Clissold Leisure Centre, in Hackney, east London, after being told the Sunday morning swimming session was for Muslim men only.

Council officials later said staff had made a mistake and both Mr Toube, a corporate lawyer, and his son should have been admitted.

After discovering the rules at Thornton Heath one Croydon resident, 34-year-old Alex Craig, said: "I think it is preposterous that a council should be encouraging this type of segregation over municipal facilities.

"Surely if Muslims want to swim then they should just turn up with their modest swimwear at the same time as everyone else."

Ah, but you see, Mr. Craig, it's not about swimming. It's about domination, enforcing the rules of Muslim culture over yours. It's about creating a country within a country, bit by bit until it's able to rule over your particular part of dar harb and make it part of dar Islam.

And it's also about making any Muslims who might actually want to assimilate into mainstream British society uncomfortable about not towing the Islamist line.Meanwhile Britain's hard line wahabi and Deobandi mosques continue to work on radicalizing the younger generation of Muslims, with notable success.

Britain already has officially granted jurisdiction in Muslim civil cases to sharia courts, thus undermining a centuries-old principle of one law for all applied equally to all British subjects. Now all Muslims - particularly if they happen to be uppity women - are at the mercy of a code originated by a bunch of 7th century brigands...whether they like it or not. And regardless of any rights they might have under British law.

There are already no-go areas for non-Muslims in some British cities, and British police have actually been chased off the streets by howling Muslim mobs.

It even affects who is allowed to enter Britain. A perfectly peaceable Geert Wilders can be denied entry even when he was invited by members of parliament to come to Britain and address them, because a portion of Britain's Muslims threaten violent riots. And an admittedly controversial American talk show host like Michael Savage ( AKA Michael Weiner) who poses no threat to anyone and had not even applied to enter Britain can be put on the proscribed list simply because they needed to pick someone out of a hat who wasn't an Islamist extremist for 'balance'.

That's how it works when a society gets conquered from within. And each small victory in imposing Islamist norms on the majority, each knuckling under to the specific or implied threat of violence picks up the momentum.

If this situation continues in Britain, the Islamists will either finally take over the entire country and reduce non-Muslims to dhimmi status or provoke a civil war trying.

Glenn Beck: Radicals On The Left Want To Shut You Up

Remember when the Dems used to talk about how dissent was the highest form of patriotism? Well, they've changed their story now that they're in power.

I'm not the world's biggest Glenn Beck fan, but this superb bit is not to be missed. It brings it all together.

Sarah Palin Was Right About The 'Death Panels'

One of the controversies in the culture war over Obamacare involves a provision in the various drafts of the bill for so-called 'death panels', what's the bill genteely refers to as 'end of life counseling'.

Anyone doing some serious thinking about this understands what that really means. After all, we have a president that supports infanticide - and no, I'm not talking just about abortion.

And Obama's chief healthcare adviser, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel has openly expressed views about saving money by denying care to the elderly and disabled just this side of the Third Reich.

As a matter of fact, the Nazis had a term for it, 'unwürdig des lebens' (unworthy of life) and used this as a legal designation of policy for their own version of government run healthcare to euthanize thousands of people who were mentally ill, suffering from terminal illness,or were disabled in various degrees.

Governor Sarah Palin was one of the first national figures to pick up on this, and she had a damned good personal reason to do so - she's the mother of a Down's Syndrome baby. She pointed out that there was nothing in Obamacare whatsoever to stop 'death panels' from making binding decisions on who would receive care and who wouldn't, based on age, physical condition or disability.

She was roundly ridiculed for it, especially by Democrats and the dinosaur media. No less than the New York Timesdubbed the talk about death panels 'stubborn and false'.

Except, guess what? Governor Palin was entirely correct, once again.

The New York Times itself quoted the Prevaricator-In-Chief in an interview by David Leonhardt on May 9th, 2009 on the subject, after a discussion about Obama's terminally ill grandmother and typical White Person having a costly hip replacement to avoid being bedridden during the last few months of her life:

THE PRESIDENT: So that’s where I think you just get into some very difficult moral issues. But that’s also a huge driver of cost, right?

I mean, the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill out here.

LEONHARDT: So how do you — how do we deal with it?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, I think that there is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists. And then there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place. It is very difficult to imagine the country making those decisions just through the normal political channels. And that’s part of why you have to have some independent group that can give you guidance. It’s not determinative, but I think has to be able to give you some guidance. And that’s part of what I suspect you’ll see emerging out of the various health care conversations that are taking place on the Hill right now.

This was back during the heady days when the president expected Obamacare to sail through Congress, just like the stimulus and Cap n' Tax. He was already talking about an independent group - let's not call 'em death panels now, OK? - to make these decisions.

And now, Obamacare is plagued by 'rumors' about it's going to include guidelines for end of life care (not to mention rationing) in order to cut costs and spread the wealth healthcare around? ( hat tip JustOne Minute.

And oh, yes..the Senate just stripped those supposedly non-existent end of life guidelines provision from the bill. Just a coincidence. Of course.

Score another one for Governor Palin. And a lot of other people.

Here's the latest she had to say on the matter:

I join millions of Americans in expressing appreciation for the Senate Finance Committee’s decision to remove the provision in the pending health care bill that authorizes end-of-life consultations (Section 1233 of HR 3200). It’s gratifying that the voice of the people is getting through to Congress; however, that provision was not the only disturbing detail in this legislation; it was just one of the more obvious ones.

As I noted in my statement last week, nationalized health care inevitably leads to rationing. There is simply no way to cover everyone and hold down the costs at the same time. The rationing system proposed by one of President Obama’s key health care advisors is particularly disturbing. I’m speaking of the “Complete Lives System” advocated by Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the president’s chief of staff. President Obama has not yet stated any opposition to the “Complete Lives System,” a system which, if enacted, would refuse to allocate medical resources to the elderly, the infirm, and the disabled who have less economic potential. [1] Why the silence from the president on this aspect of his nationalization of health care? Does he agree with the “Complete Lives System”? If not, then why is Dr. Emanuel his policy advisor? What is he advising the president on? I just learned that Dr. Emanuel is now distancing himself from his own work and claiming that his “thinking has evolved” on the question of rationing care to benefit the strong and deny the weak. [2] How convenient that he disavowed his own work only after the nature of his scholarship was revealed to the public at large.

The president is busy assuring us that we can keep our private insurance plans, but common sense (and basic economics) tells us otherwise. The public option in the Democratic health care plan will crowd out private insurers, and that’s what it’s intended to do. A single payer health care plan has been President Obama’s agenda all along, though he is now claiming otherwise. Don’t take my word for it. Here’s what he said back in 2003:

“I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care plan.... A single payer health care plan – universal health care plan – that’s what I would like to see.” [3]

A single-payer health care plan might be what Obama would like to see, but is it what the rest of us would like to see? What does a single payer health care plan look like? We need look no further than other countries who have adopted such a plan. The picture isn’t pretty. [4] The only way they can control costs is to ration care. As I noted in my earlier statement quoting Thomas Sowell, government run health care won’t reduce the price of medical care; it will simply refuse to pay the price. The expensive innovative procedures that people from all over the world come to the United States for will not be available under a government plan that seeks to cover everyone by capping costs.

Our senior citizens are right to be wary of this health care bill. Medical care at the end of life accounts for 80 percent of all health care. When care is rationed, that is naturally where the cuts will be felt first. The “end-of-life” consultations authorized in Section 1233 of HR 3200 were an obvious and heavy handed attempt at pressuring people to reduce the financial burden on the system by minimizing their own care. Worst still, it actually provided a financial incentive to doctors to initiate these consultations. People are right to point out that such a provision doesn’t sound “purely voluntary.”

In an article I noted yesterday, Charles Lane wrote:

“Ideally, the delicate decisions about how to manage life’s end would be made in a setting that is neutral in both appearance and fact. Yes, it’s good to have a doctor’s perspective. But Section 1233 goes beyond facilitating doctor input to preferring it. Indeed, the measure would have an interested party -- the government -- recruit doctors to sell the elderly on living wills, hospice care and their associated providers, professions and organizations. You don’t have to be a right-wing wacko to question that approach.” [5]

I agree. Last year, I issued a proclamation for “Healthcare Decisions Day.” [6] The proclamation sought to increase the public’s knowledge about creating living wills and establishing powers of attorney. There was no incentive to choose one option over another. There was certainly no financial incentive for physicians to push anything. In fact, the proclamation explicitly called on medical professionals and lawyers “to volunteer their time and efforts” to provide information to the public.

Comparing the “Healthcare Decisions Day” proclamation to Section 1233 of HR 3200 is ridiculous. The two are like apples and oranges. The attempt to link the two shows how desperate the proponents of nationalized health care are to shift the debate away from the disturbing details of their bill.

There is one aspect of this bill which I have not addressed yet, but it’s a very obvious one. It’s the simple fact that we can’t afford it. But don’t take my word for it. Take the word of Doug Elmendorf, the director of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. He told the Senate Budget Committee last month:

“In the legislation that has been reported we do not see the sort of fundamental changes that would be necessary to reduce the trajectory of federal health spending by a significant amount. And on the contrary, the legislation significantly expands the federal responsibility for health care costs.” [7]

Dr. Elmendorf went on to note that this health care legislation would increase spending at an unsustainable rate.

Our nation is already $11.5 trillion in debt. Where will the money come from? Taxes, of course. And will a burdensome new tax help our economy recover? Of course not. The best way to encourage more health care coverage is to foster a strong economy where people can afford to purchase their own coverage if they choose to do so. The current administration’s economic policies have done nothing to help in this regard.

Health care is without a doubt a complex and contentious issue, but health care reform should be a market oriented solution. There are many ways we can reform the system and lower costs without nationalizing it.

The economist Arthur Laffer has taken the lead in pushing for a patient-center health care reform policy. He noted in a Wall Street Journal article earlier this month:

“A patient-centered health-care reform begins with individual ownership of insurance policies and leverages Health Savings Accounts, a low-premium, high-deductible alternative to traditional insurance that includes a tax-advantaged savings account. It allows people to purchase insurance policies across state lines and reduces the number of mandated benefits insurers are required to cover. It reallocates the majority of Medicaid spending into a simple voucher for low-income individuals to purchase their own insurance. And it reduces the cost of medical procedures by reforming tort liability laws.” [8]

Those are real reforms that we can live with and afford. Once again, I warn my fellow Americans that if we go down the path of nationalized health care, there will be no turning back. We must stop and think or we may find ourselves losing even more of our freedoms.

    PharmaGate: Obama's Newest Scandal

You'll remember that I mentioned Obama's secret deal with the big pharmaceutical companies..the one even Lefty shill Robert Reich was outraged about.

In exchange for Big Pharma's support for Obamacare to the tune of $150 million in advertising money, Obama said he would prohibit his government run healthcare from bargaining with them to get lower volume prices on drugs for the American people, import drugs from Canada or pursue Medicare rebates or to shift some drugs from to different Medicare plans, which would save Big Pharma billions in reduced reimbursements. Knowing Obama, there was also likely an undertone of threatening the drug companies with retaliation if they didn't play ball.

Since the knowledge about this viciously corrupt deal went public, the deal's apparently off...but the scandal remains. Legally, an unsuccessful conspiracy is just as actionable as a successful one.

The Lefty Huffington Post of all people helped drop the dime on this, for which kudos to them:

A memo obtained by the Huffington Post confirms that the White House and the pharmaceutical lobby secretly agreed to precisely the sort of wide-ranging deal that both parties have been denying over the past week.

The memo, which according to a knowledgeable health care lobbyist was prepared by a person directly involved in the negotiations, lists exactly what the White House gave up, and what it got in return.

It says the White House agreed to oppose any congressional efforts to use the government's leverage to bargain for lower drug prices or import drugs from Canada -- and also agreed not to pursue Medicare rebates or shift some drugs from Medicare Part B to Medicare Part D, which would cost Big Pharma billions in reduced reimbursements.

In exchange, the Pharmaceutical Researchers and Manufacturers Association (PhRMA) agreed to cut $80 billion in projected costs to taxpayers and senior citizens over ten years. Or, as the memo says: "Commitment of up to $80 billion, but not more than $80 billion."

This is interesting on several fronts.

While the president is likely allowed to make deals with private corporations for the purposes of public policy, he's not allowed to do so secretly. And especially not for what amounts to $150 million in campaign contributions. By contrast, John McCain spent only $126 million on his entire campaign.

Second, the fact of the matter is that both the White House and the drug corporations have been blatantly lying in concert about this for weeks to the public in about the deal. That's normally known as a conspiracy to defraud.

Obama's also lying again when he claims that he was going to get even more savings from savings from drug-makers. Read the above memo. The exact amount of all savings had already been agreed to in exchange for the $150 million to Obama - $80 billion and not a cent more.

Naked Emperor has a video based on Obama's frequent statements that not only would this kind of negotiations be transparent 'they'd be on C-SPAN.' I feel like I neeed a shower even watching this.

So what does all this amount to? Unfortunately not much.A Republican president caught pulling this crap would end up with 24/7 coverage on 'the scandal hovering over the White House' and a special prosecutor insisted on by Congress. Cries on 'what did he know and when did he know it' would fill the air, and people like Nancy Pelosi, Henry Waxman and John Conyers would be drooling so heavily that they'd have to hire a special towel delivery service.

That kind of action isn't going to happen with the Democrats and Obama, and the media will likely use the upcoming weekend to let this all blow away like it never happened.

And that's too bad. This stinks to high heaven, a Chicago-style backroom deal that had no place in th eWhite House.

When Richard Nixon was accused of obstruction of justice, it was the Republicans in the Senate led by Barry Goldwater than essentially forced him to resign.

Bill Clinton, on the other hand, was actually indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice and impeached by the House. But it was the Senate Democrats who used their majority to refuse to even allow an impeachment trial and saw to it that he finished his term in office.

    Some things just don't change.

Ed Schultz: "Conservatives Want Obama Shot"

Lefty Mess NBC host and radio 'personality' Ed Schultz is at it again...his latest claim is that conservatives want Obama shot.

I'm not surprised at ol' Ed really. He needs to do something to get his audience into four digits, so he runs off at the mouth. But he really doesn't, you know, understand how things work. We don't want Obama shot ( President Biden?? Shudder!).

Dragged out of the Oval office kicking and screaming while we giggle like schoolgirls, hell yeah..but not murdered.

On the other hand, Ed's not nearly as concerned when it comes to Republican office holders. He's fine with death wishes for people like Dick Cheney

And I don't recall him having anything to say when his Air America co-host Randi Rhodes said that President Bush should be treated like Fredo in The Godfather: "hey you take him out fishing, bang bang two in the head and no more problem."

No lying about that one, Ed. I heard her say it on the air with my own ears.

Of course Ed's the kind of macho guy who's into punching out women, so this kind up discrepancy on his part when it comes to common sense is to be expected.

Let's just say he's not known for calm rational judgment and leave it at that.

As I've always said, to really understand the Left, a knowledge of child psychology is a distinct advantage.

Ann Coulter Takes Out Kathleen Parker

Like watching Bruce Lee in "Enter The Dragon'...just beeyootiful:

Just as the left pioneered "AstroTurf" protesters -- homeless people lured to demonstrations with the offer of a free T-shirt and a box lunch -- liberals have also specialized in producing fake "insiders" denouncing their alleged group.

There were the "winter soldiers" -- fake Vietnam veterans claiming to have personally disemboweled babies in Vietnam. It took 30 years and the publication of the book "Stolen Valor" to establish that the bulk of them were utter frauds who had never seen combat -- some had never seen Vietnam. (Shockingly, to this day, the Wikipedia entry on the winter soldiers treats their phony war records as legitimate.)

Then there's Barry Lynn, alleged "Christian minister," whose stock in trade is to denounce any mention of religion anyplace, anytime. Look, I'm a Christian minister, but even I have to admit that the sight of a kindergartner praying is terrifying to most folks. (The first person to post Barry Lynn's bar mitzvah photos or birth announcement (mazel tov!) wins a free copy of my latest book, Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and Their Assault on America.)

The latest fake insider/whistleblower is Kathleen Parker, the Barry Lynn of the South. Fresh off her mainstream media tour as a Sarah Palin-hating "conservative," Parker is now a self-proclaimed Southerner blaming opposition to Obama's policies on the region's reputed racism.

Uncannily, this claim struck a chord with Northern liberals!

Throughout the presidential campaign last year, liberals were champing at the bit to accuse Americans of racism for not supporting Barack Obama. That was a tough argument on account of the obvious facts that: (1) for every vote he lost because he's black, Obama picked up another 20 votes for being black; (2) Obama won the election in (3) a country that's 87 percent non-black.

So the accusations of racism had to be put on hold until ... the first note of dissent from his agenda was sounded.

Inasmuch as Obama was just elected and his policies have turned out to be the most left-wing the country has ever seen, it wasn't going to be easy to claim the electorate suddenly decided they didn't like the mammoth spending bills or socialist health care bills because they just noticed Obama is black.

But Kathleen Parker has leapt into the fray to explain that the opposition to Obama's agenda is pure Southern racism. And she's from the South, so it must be true!

As she put it on Chris Matthews' "Hardball": "One word, Chris -- one word. 'Confederacy.' I mean, you know, the South is very -- I live there, OK? I want to make that clear, too, because I'm not bashing Southerners."

No, she was certainly not bashing Southerners. This she made clear in her Washington Post column calling for the Republican Party to "drive a stake through the heart of old Dixie."

How one gets from "we don't want socialized medicine" to "we hate black people" was a tough equation. As my algebra teacher used to say: "Please show your work."

Yee-hah! (cue rebel yell). Read it all.

Is The White Housing Now Clearing Its MidEast Policy With Hamas?

According to US law, any contacts between our government and a designated terrorist entity like Hamas are strictly illegal.

So riddle me this: why is Hamas suddenly endorsing Obama's upcoming peace plan even before it's been announced?

Hamas is prepared to deal "positively" with US President Barack Obama's Middle East peace plan, a top political aide to Ismail Haniyeh, the organization's prime minister, said Thursday.

"We have an initial readiness to accept it and deal with it positively, but we will also reject it if it doesn't include an American recognition of the Palestinian rights," Yousef Rizka told the Chinese Xinhua news agency.

"The plan should endorse Palestinian statehood with Jerusalem as its capital," Rizka was quoted as saying. "Hamas will take an in-depth study of the plan when it is made public."

According to various reports, Obama is soon set to unveil his plan for comprehensive Middle East peace, according to which the West will intensify sanctions against Hamas if it doesn't respond clearly to the initiative.

Rizka stressed that Hamas makes up its positions "mainly from the level of meeting the Palestinian rights."

He said that Hamas now accepts a two-state solution "but only in exchange for a long-term truce" with Israel.

Now this is highly interesting. The spokesman for Gaza's PM Ismail Haniyeh goes public with a statement that Hamas would actually accede to a two state solution in exchange for a truce IF the Palestinians get everything they want? All of a sudden, out of the blue?

Aside from the fact that the Israelis would be insane to accept that kind of suicidal deal, why the sudden change? And why now?

The answer is further on in the article, if you can connect the dots:

Meanwhile, a US envoy and Syria's foreign minister met Thursday as part of American efforts to achieve a "permanent and comprehensive peace in the region," a US Embassy official said.

Fred Hof, an assistant to George Mitchell, a former Senate Democratic leader who oversees US Mideast peacemaking efforts, met Walid Moallem shortly before ending a two-day visit to Damascus, the official said.

    The embassy official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. Syrian officials did not comment on Hof's visit. {...}

It was Hof's second visit to Syria in less than a month.

Now, who else is in Damascus aside from Syrians but...Khalid Meshaal, the head of the Hamas politibureau and Haniyeh's direct superior.

That makes it all very simple. Our envoy has obviously cleared the upcoming 'peace ' plan with Meshaal, who gave Ismail Haniyeh permission to tacitly endorse it.

It will be presented to the Israelis as a package deal, and as a way of legitimizing Hamas - after all, didn't they say they support that magic two-state solution if those stubborn Jews just knuckle under and get with the program?

The EU is already talking to Hamas and the US is already funding them, so this will be the final step in sanitizing a terrorist entity - exactly the way it was done for the PLO.

Absolutely disgusting and illegal as hell, but not unexpected with this administration.

Obama's Tactics Have a Familiar Smell

As the Obama White House sees its attempt to foist government run and controlled health care on the American people start to crash and burn, they're resorting to tactics that have a certain odor about them.

Let's see..first you start by demonizing the opposition. So you put out a high media profile bogus DHS report on 'right wing extremists', have your tame media ridicule 'teabaggers' and have people like Steny Hoyer and Nancy Pelosi talk about swastika carrying protesters who are 'unAmerican'. You label legitimate protesters and people who merely want to talk to their congressmen as 'dangerous' and 'violent' as an excuse to stifle any honest debate.

To reinforce this, you astroturf - you have a couple of Democrats plants posing as protesters carrying Obama as Hitler signs and have a few of your people conveniently paint swastikas on a black Democratic congressman's office.

You mobilize the vast Left wing conspiracy to flood the comments sections in newspapers and blogs.

You send out bogus talking points to the troops via David Axelrod, counting on people not having actually read the proposed bill. Of course, anyone with a fighting chance of a two digit IQ who has read it can refute Axelrod's lies and dissimulation easily, but you're going for the numbers here, trying to overwhelm the facts by repeating the Big Lie over and over again.(hat tip, ACE)

And you sic your supporters on the opposition and collect data on dissidents for future use via a White House run 'snitch line', run by some very questionable people.

Of course, if the media questions it, you just have your people out and out lie to them:

Why stop at a snitch list? You can even put tracking cookies on government web sites!

You do your best to monopolize the public debate. You have your tame media do their best to ridicule and demonize the despised unAmerican 'teabaggers'. You set up the media with supposed neutral 'insiders' who are really long time members of your team.

You even send out fake tear-jerker letters from your people to public officials. ( hat tip. Wow)

You do your best to control the town hall meetings and limit debate by busing in supporters in advance, or even going to virtual town hall meetings, where the Congressman decides who gets to ask what questions in advance.

And you set up a widely televised fake, scripted 'town hall meeting' with the President. You even cynically use the young child of one of your long time supporters to ask about 'ugly signs' for a soundbite.

Oh, and you bring in the muscle. You have ACORN and SEIUgoons threaten and beat up Americans who have the nerve to question Obama and his policies, and do the best you can to shut down any dissent.

These tactics do have a familiar aroma, don't they? As I said yesterday, if things don't start improving for Obama, expect a major 'reichstag fire' style incident fairly soon.

The amazing thing is that in spite of what the media would have you believe, Obama's problems aren't originating from the relatively powerless GOP, but from Democrats. If the Democrats voted as a bloc, they have the votes to push through virtually anything they want, and if a number of them aren't drinking the Kool-Ade, it's because they're afraid of voting for this and then having to face their constituents next year.

'Moderate' Fatah Declares War On Israel

The 6th Fatah conference in Bethleham in largely over, with its members having elected Fatah's new Central Committee and deciding on a political platform.

As Fatah capo del tutti Mahmoud Abbas admitted, life in the Fatah -ruled areas of Judea and Samaria ( AKA the West Bank) is 'a good reality'. Thanks to lavish American aid from the Obama Administration and the IDF remaining in place to prevent a Hamas takeover, there's relative calm and the economy in the Fatah enclave is growing at 7%, the only area in the entire Arab world with positive economic growth.

With a little bit of prosperity, a friendly American president and all the noise about peace negotiations, wouldn't you think Abbas and Fatah would take advantage of their good fortune, elect moderates to their Central Committee and begin to moderate their positions and prepare their people for peace with Israel and territorial compromises?

    Faggeddaboudit.

The Palestinians in Fatah, including the so-called 'young guard' voted en masse in favor of a political platform endorses armed struggle against Israel if they don't get absolutely everything they want.

The young guard members also voted in favor of a hard-line resolution that endorses Fatah's terrorist militia, the Aksa Martyrs Brigades, as an officially recognized part of Fatah. They also voted that the Palestinians will never make any territorial compromises with Israel, never recognize Israel as a Jewish state and never give up the so-called the "right of return" to swamp Israel with genocidal 'refugees'. They also voted for a resolution stating that every one of the murderers now in Israeli custody must be released and that they will "liberate Jerusalem" as their capital - not just East Jerusalem but all of it.

Since these are formal resolutions adopted by all of Fatah, the faction has set up a whole series of red lines that Abbas and his fellow Mafiosos aren't allowed to cross even if they had any desire or inclination to do so.

And all of this is non-negotiable and must be agreed to before any peace talks - or else it's back to 'armed struggle'.

It's 100% of their demands or war.

It's also worth looking at who's on the new Central Committee

According to a long time source of mine in the Palestinian Authority, Abbas is not really sharing the American booty around properly, and some of the younger Fatah guys are complaining screaming for `reform' - which in this context means a fair share of the swag and some new faces in positions of power.

While the Young Guard got some token appointments, the new Central Committee is mostly built around people like Muhammad Dahlan, Jibril Rajoub, Marwan Barghouti, Tawfik Tirawi and their cronies.

Barghouti was convicted by an Israeli civil court of murder because of his direct role in the murder of Israeli civilians. He's currently serving five life terms in an Israeli prison, where he had some interesting friends. In spite of being a convicted murderer, Barghouti was the head of the Fatah list that lost to Hamas in the January 2006 parliamentary elections. He's hardly someone you'd refer to a 'moderate.'

Dahlan, Rajoub and Tirawi are all former PA capos who served as Yasser Arafat's enforcers after the Israelis stupidly agreed to empower Arafat and put him in charge of the Palestinians as part of the Oslo agreements.

They're best remembered among rank and file Palestinians for building detention centers, prisons, huge villas for themselves and a casino in Jericho.

They were in charge of intimidating and eliminating anyone who got in Arafat's way or who dared to question how Arafat was running his mafioso regime.

Aside from stealing whatever they could get their hands on, they specialized in doling out 'justice' to Palestinians suspected of "collaboration" with Israel, which could mean anything the PLO wanted it to mean.

Dahlan was in charge of the Fatah fiefdom of Gaza after the Israelis farcically pulled out of there 'for peace'. He was largely responsible for losing Gaza to Hamas and is suspected pf pocketing a healthy amount of the US aid sent there. Aside from being despised by many Palestinians for being violent and corrupt, he's also suspect amongst them because of his prior involvement as the CIA's preferred intermediary with the PLO.

Rajoub was the man who helped facilitate all the illegal arms shipments for Arafat (including the infamous Karine-A ) and skim millions of donor aid dollars into Arafat's private accounts. And that information came right from the mouth of none other than Arafat's own finance minister Fuad Shubaki.

'General' Tawfik Tirawi was Dahlan's underboss and the de facto military commander in Gaza under Dahlan. Like the other Fatah `generals' and `commanders', he ran out on his men when Fatah's attempted US-backed coup against Hamas was imminent and holed up in Ramallah on the West Bank, issuing his orders via cellphone. Thus he was safe and sound when Hamas fighters dragged many of his Fatah gunmen off and shot them to death gangland-style in the street in front of their families. At one point, Tirawi and his boys pulled off an 'operation' that kidnapped and murdered a number of Palestinians from Jerusalem who they accused of selling land and houses to Jews.

These aren't people who are going to have any interest in preparing the Palestinians for peaceful coexistence with Israel.

Asked about when the 'struggle' would end, Yasser Arafat said it along time ago, on Jordanian TV right after he signed the Oslo Accords: "Either we will push the Jews into the sea or they will push us into the sea. "

It's about time we realized he wasn't kidding. And neither are his heirs.

    Happy Cost Of Government Day!!

    Congratulations!

Every day you worked this year so far has been to pay for the increased
    cost of government spending.

Every year, the Americans for Tax Reform Foundation and the Center for Fiscal Accountability calculate Cost of Government Day, the day of the calendar year when the average American worker is done paying off his or her share of the cost of government.

While other indices look primarily at taxation as a measure of the cost imposed by government, the annual Cost of Government Day Report takes into account the total spending burden as a percentage of GDP coupled with government regulations, an oft-forgotten, but significant burden also borne by the economy.

With Cost of Government Day falling on Aug. 12 this year, American workers had to work 224 days out of the year to meet the cost imposed on them by government. In other words, for 2009 the cost of government consumes a whopping 61.34 percent of national income.

And don't think it's over yet. Under Obama's budget, expect it to get even worse, suckah.

The actual date varies, of course, depending on where you live. In Connecticut, for example, Cost of Government Day will arrive September 7th. In California, with the state effectively bankrupt and paying off its obligations with a combination of IOU's and 'borrowing ' from county and municipal funds, the date falls on August 23rd. In Alaska, run by that ignorant chillbilly Sarah Palin - you know, the one with no experience in government that would qualify her for national office? July 11th, the best in America. Alaska was number 1 in 2008 as well.

You can find out where your state lands here.

Father of Handicapped Son Received Threats After Protesting ObamaCare

This is indeed what it's come to.

Mike Sola of Milan, Michigan went to a townhall meeting to get a face to face explanation from his congressman, Rep. John Dingell(D) as to why his son Scott, who has cerebral palsy, would not be covered under Obamacare.

Dingell hemmed and hawed and mumbled something about an amendment that had been proposed, but Sola and the other constituents in the hall weren't drinking the KoolAde and let their feelings be known.

Sola was a little loud, but allowed himself to be peacefully escorted out by police. But as he reveals in this FOX news video, he and his family received threats at home - likely from Obama's ACORN or SEIU thugs.

When you have the Democrat leadership of the House going public and calling dissenters 'UnAmerican', an enemies list run directly out of the White House and free license to union thugs to use physical force to silence people, this is the sort of fascist behavior you can expect.

Obama is pulling all the stops out to get this through.he was even willing to make an outrageous sweetheart did with the big pharmaceutical companies to prohibit Obama's government run healthcare from bargaining with them to get lower volume prices on rugs in exchange for big pharma's support for Obamacare to the tune of $150 million in advertising money. Even Leftist shill Robert Reich was outraged by this one

Don't be surprised if the next step is a Nazi-style 'Reichstag fire' incident, designed to make the ObamaBots look like victims as they continue to attempt to suppress our liberty and ram their neo-Marxist agenda through.
