George Zimmerman's Bail Bond Revoked; Ordered To Turn Himself In

George Zimmerman, the defendant in the Treyvon Martin case has had his bail bond revoked and has been ordered to turn himself in to custody by this Sunday.

The prosecution representing the State of Florida successfully petitioned the judge in the case to do so because they say Zimmerman lied about having a valid U.S. passport and misled the court about the state of his finances, not disclosing about $200,000 he had raised off of his website.

Zimmerman's original bond was $150,000, secured, like most of these are, by 10% in cash or property.

I see this as more of an attempt to damage Zimmerman's credibility and influence the judge and potential jurors rather than a real indication of anything else.

The granting of bail and the bond amount is determined not by whether someone has a passport or not,but whether they're a potential flight risk.If Zimmerman was going to scamper off, why wouldn't he have done it after he was freed on bail, with a valid U.S. passport and $200k in cash?

Zimmerman can't work at his job or live in his home and is in hiding because of death threats. The New Black Panther Party still has a bounty on him 'dead or alive'. He was likely using the money for basic living expenses and to pay his lawyer, which is exactly what his website says the money's being used for, and simply decided not to disclose it because it was badly needed.

On the other hand, lying to the court, even by omission is taken fairly seriously..perhaps even more so by people who lie and dissemble for a living than by the rest of us.

You can expect much to be made of this by the prosecution before the judge, the jury and the media.

roland,
sitting here scratching my balls wondering why ff would post a pieceofshit comment like yours?
that's an assumptive comment, it must suck for him?
one thing is for sure, judging from your comment, it does suck being you.
where's your faux sympathy for this family?
or your faux sympathy for these people?
another easy question for yourself would be, why did you decide that this tragedy should suck all the oxygen out of the media, and focus the attention of the national/federal "justus" department singularly on it?
what is there about this incident, that you chose to make it the only incident of its type to occupy such attention?
why did you do this?
here's another couple of questions for you.
at what public school do you teach?
and what subject(s)?
if you have something to offer in this discussion please do so? if not, post your chic cliches at kos and stop trolling here.
