Obama Bans Mention Of Islam,Jihad From National Security Strategy Document

There's a psychological term known as category error, defined as the inability to solve a problem because of not being able to label it correctly. President Bush was certainly guilty of that when he addressed the nation after 9/11...but Obama has gone off the charts in this direction:

President Barack Obama's advisers will remove religious terms such as "Islamic extremism" from the central document outlining the U.S. national security strategy and will use the rewritten document to emphasize that the United States does not view Muslim nations through the lens of terror, counterterrorism officials said.

The change is a significant shift in the National Security Strategy, a document that previously outlined the Bush Doctrine of preventative war and currently states: "The struggle against militant Islamic radicalism is the great ideological conflict of the early years of the 21st century."

The officials described the changes on condition of anonymity because the document still was being written, and the White House would not discuss it. But rewriting the strategy document will be the latest example of Obama putting his stamp on U.S. foreign policy, like his promises to dismantle nuclear weapons and limit the situations in which they can be used.

What else did you expect from a president who told the world in his Cairo apologia: "I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear."

What we're being treated to here is Obama's fictionalized and frankly ignorant worldview.

And yes, it matters, just as it mattered when President Bush characterized Islam as a 'religion of peace' and told his fellow Americans to calm down and go shopping after 9/11.

Barack Hussein Obama, among his other Constitutional responsibilities is the commander-in-chief of our armed forces.Democracies by their very nature are almost always reluctant to go to war and normally need strong and pressing motivation to do so, in order to continue to support the sacrifice in blood and treasure. This is a war against jihad no matter how you parse it, and thus far we've been fighting it for almost nine years with limited success precisely because of the lack of clear focus by the current occupant of the White House and his predecessor.

Aside from weakening us, it has strengthened our enemies.

And I can't even imagine the effect this nonsense has on our troops and our security personnel. They know whom they're fighting because they see the enemy up close, no matter what unicorns Obama pulls out of his hat.

I can only imagine what it feels like for them to see their commander-in-chief so out of touch with reality.
