American Sharia, Courtesy of David Letterman

I wasn't originally planning on writing about this, but since the perpetrator is apparently getting a pass from the dinosaur media, perhaps I need to lift up the rock and expose the filth to the light a bit.Plus, after thinking about it, it's a bigger issue than I first thought.

Governor Sarah Palin was in New York City to do a fundraiser for charity with her husband Todd and her 14-year-old daughter Willow and the fact that the Palins were in 'his' town apparently set off David Letterman to the point where he targeted the governor and her family in an especially despicable way.

He started out by making a remark while counting down "The Top Ten Highlights Of Sarah Palin's Trip To New York" about how Governor Palin was going to drop by Bloomingdale's to 'update her slutty stewardess look'

He then moved on to Willow Palin, essentially branding her a prostitute by making a joke about her mother 'having to keep her away from Elliot Spitzer'.And finally, in his monologue, Letterman went after 14-year-old Willow Palin again.

Willow and her parents were the guest of Rudy Giuliani for a game at Yankee Stadium, about as innocent an activity as you can imagine. Letterman decided it would be big yuks to make a joke on national TV about fourteen-year-old Willow getting raped, as shown above. This was so over the top that the Leftist media didn't even want to repeat it. The New York Times mysteriously censored Letterman's Willow joke from their transcript of his monologue.

This assault on Governor Palin and her daughter's femaleness is nothing less than a form of Leftist sharia. This kind of attack an attack on women because of their failure to conform and wear the ideological burka leftists like Letterman demand they wear has become standard operating procedure for the Left and it's time they stopped getting away with it.

Listen to Letterman's audience laugh along with him, and reflect on how the Leftist media and feminist groups like NOW are ignoring this. If Letterman had made these remarks about Michelle Obama and one of her daughters, would the reaction have been the same? You know it wouldn't.

Remember when a certain talk show host made an untoward remark about Chelsea Clinton a few years back? That host was suspended for two weeks without pay and was nearly fired, and what he said was a lot milder than what Letterman said.

Another aspect of this was the fact that this `humor' was directed at a teenage girl.
Can you imagine how a sensitive teenager must have felt hearing herself discussed this way on national TV? Anybody who's ever lived with one knows what that must have been like behind closed doors. Can you imagine being her mother and having to explain to her that she was targeted for this kind of verbal public rape not because of anything she'd done, but simply because a pathetic man has a personal hatred for her mother and decided to vent it by attacking her family?

Willow Palin's parents responded to Letterman by issuing a short terse statement:

"Concerning Letterman's comments about my young daughter (and I doubt he'd ever dare make such comments about anyone else's daughter): 'Laughter incited by sexually-perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/NY entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands - that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others. ”

Todd Palin added: “Any 'jokes' about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too.”

I have a feeling that Mr. Palin would very much like to spend a few private moments alone with this aging pervert and teach him in a very personal way to stay the hell away from his family. It's what any husband and father would do, and I certainly hope he gets the chance, in a small windowless room with no witnesses.

Some people have criticized the Palins for reacting in this fashion, but I think they're entirely within their rights. It's one thing to disagree with someone's political views and engage them in honest debate, but that's not what we have here. Governor Palin is just the latest woman victimized like this, and it's high time the Left stopped getting a pass for this kind of ugliness.

David Letterman is apparently up for renewal of his contract. In case you would like to let CBS know how you feel about this creep, here are the contact e-mails for a number of the CBS brass:

Nina Tassler, Les Moonves, Kim Sartor, Kelly Kahl

Even more important, contact Letterman's sponsors and let them know that you will not be patronizing products that support his show.

Do take the time to write, especially to the sponsors. From what I hear, it's already having an effect.

There was a link over at the LGF link-mosh-pit where NOW did at least pay lip service to the "W" in their acronym.

That being said, just the thought of being in the Letterman audience is enough to have most liberals wet themselves. They'd laugh hysterically if Letterman clubbed a baby seal to death on stage.

That being said, Letterman is a tired, old, used up comedian who, like so many others in love with the spot light, just can't tell when its time to hang it up. I stopped watching him years ago when he stopped being funny.

Expect no apology (unless CBS gets scared), no class, and above all, no humor.

Hi EdSki,
That's why it's important to e-mail the sposors. Like Dylan said, money doesn't talk, it screams.

Rob

Letterman is a hater who tries to cover it up with (very bad) comedy. This is no accident, it was just a matter of time before he stepped in it.

A message, "This video has been removed by the user," appears when trying to play the video. Just as well I suppose. I didn't see the original because I don't watch Letterman. I have followed the scandal at 20,000 feet and I think ample outrage was expressed by the public.

The double standard really is infuriating. Will it ever end? It might, when these dinosaurs are forced to close their doors, because their audience disappears, because they can't be trusted...
