Watch 72-year-old Buzz Aldrin Punch Out Someone Calling Him A 'Liar' And Coward'

Today was the the 45th anniversary of the lunar landing..but 'truthers' exist that claim it never happened.

Back in 2002, one of them, Bart Sibrel ambushed the then 72-year-old Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon outside a Los Angeles hotel.Sibrel openly harassed this American hero, tossing numerous insults, including calling the old astronaut a 'liar and a coward.'

Big mistake. After Aldrin repeatedly asked him to take a hike...well, watch.

It'll make you smile.

Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin Jr. is still with us today, at the ripe old age of 84.

Oh, and the police? They declined to press any charges.

This truly does bring a smile to my face. Thank you for posting it. The trips to the moon were some of the most amazing accomplishments in the history of the human race. I always set aside some time on this day to reflect and give thanks to G_d on the first moon walk by humans.

This demonstrates the correct way to deal with "truthers." Treat them with utter contempt. By in large this appears to be the case with this group and this is a good thing. In contrast, "911 truthers", those who believe former President Bush "lied" about Iraqi WMD, and the "Occupy Wall Street" crowd while not always actively supported by the media, they are shown the utmost respect by them and in some case almost a holy reverence for them. To treat such contemptible people in this manner has had incalculably devastating consequences for our country.

While I would have liked to have seen Buzz Aldrin swear on the bible the truth of the matter that he did in fact walk on the moon, as I believe this would have been showing the proper reverence for G_d to do so, I fully realize this would not have been enough to satisfy the "truther" and Mr. Alrin would have had to punch this man anyway!!

This video does provide an example of the proper way to deal with contemptible vermin of people. Treat them with utter contempt and, when necessary, hurt them. Buzz Aldrin is a true American hero!! Mostly for his moon walk but also for reminding us of the proper way to deal with contemptible bullies.

Saw this clip some time ago & enjoy this repeat viewing. 12 great men have walked on the Moon. 2 each from Apollos 11, 12, 14 , 15, 16, & 17. About 30 years ago, I could have named their names, but my memory is not what it once was.

The conspirators' theories would involve expenses & complications far beyond even the astronomical costs of the real events. How would you fool every telescope & satellite, including the USSR's ones ? How would you fool every scientist working at Mission Control ? How would you maintain perfect silence amongst all the conspirators for 45 years ? The bribery moneys necessary would have made even Agnew blush from shame.

21 July ( where I was ) always draws me to a Moon viewing, barring a New Moon or inclement meteo conditions precluding the same. It demonstrates what we could achieve. We were landing men on the Moon ( which led to Tang drinks & velcro ) ; we were building the World Trade Centre towers in New York ; we had Pan Am & TWA to greet & welcome the world ; we had Horn & Hardarts ( I miss those ) ; & Pride & Clarkes ( UK ) ; & Sandra Dee & Jean Seberg ; & world fairs & expos in Seattle & New York City & Montreal.

In the 1960s, we were taught that, by 1980, American houses would have to be redesigned in order to permit a rocket launcher on the house's side for the family's rockets. My father was on a waiting list for Pan Am's future Moon shuttle ( though he doubted that either he or I would live long enough to purchase the actual ticket ! ) I want my retro-future back !
