Cairo II: Obama Preparing New 'Outreach' To The Muslim World
Well, you had to know he'd apologize sooner or later.
According to sources in the White House, President Obama is preparing a brand new outreach to the Muslim world in the form of a speech that will ask them to reject Islamism in the wake of Osama bin Laden's death and seek an improved relationship with the American infidels and the Great Satan.
I'm sure the president will mention the 'Arab Spring' in the course of his remarks as a positive development. Oh, and never mind that in Egypt the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood is the prime mover, in Libya the rebels we're backing have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaeda, and in Yemen and Bahrain the main instigator is Iran.
As proof that this clueless attitude extends beyond the president, here's Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser at the White House:
"It's an interesting coincidence of timing—that he is killed at the same time that you have a model emerging in the region of change that is completely the opposite of bin Laden's model."
Yes, exactly the opposite. Just like Hamas is just a group of misunderstood agrarian reformers.
Meanwhile the Administration is turning it's back on the one real democratic revolt in the region and the one that could be a real game changer in the region - Syria.
Never fear, however..rest assured that the speech will include some language bashing Israel and urging those pesky Jews to capitulate to all of the demands of the new Hamas/Fatah terrorist entity. There's some speculation that the president will use the occasion of his speech to sketch out new demands for Israeli concessions as part of a new US peace plan.
President Obama is expected to deliver this masterpiece before leaving on a five-day trip to Europe on May 23, right after he meets with Israeli PM Benyamin Netanyahu May 20th. even more interesting, Obama will deliver his speech the day before Netanyahu addresses Congress. Is the president planning an ambush? I'm certain being a fly on the wall at that particular meeting would be most informative.
