Beatdown - DCCC Apologizes Publicly To GOP Donor Sheldon Adelson

Ah,now this is wonderful...

Las Vegas casino magnate Sheldon Adelson is a large name on the Obama White House enemies list, one that makes Nixon's pale by comparison

Anyone who donates to GOP or conservative causes can count not only on vilification but on government audits, extra red tape and harassment.

In Adelson's case, not only is he a large donor to Mitt Romney and other GOP candidates, he's an ardent Zionist who's under no illusions about President Obama's animus towards the Jewish State. That makes him a double target.

Back on June 29th, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) sent out a scurrilous email stating that Adelson “personally approved of prostitution and knew of other improper activity at his company’s properties in the Chinese enclave of Macau, China.”

In that same email, the DCCC asked: “What will Speaker Boehner, Leader Cantor, and House Republicans do with their Chinese prostitution money?”

The 78-year-old Adelson is no light weight and he knew exactly how this handle this libel.

On July 17th, he had his attorneys write a harsh letter to the DCCC that essentially said, 'retract your lies publicly and apologize or I'm going to sue you for every dime you have.'

I was kind of hoping the DCC would actually try and fight this, because it would have bankrupted them. Instead, these Alinskyite scum chose the other alternative, to grovel and apologize publicly on Adelson's terms:

"In press statements issued on June 29 and July 2, 2012, the DCCC made unsubstantiated allegations that attacked Sheldon Adelson, a supporter of the opposing party," the DCCC said in an e-mail released Thursday. "This was wrong. The statements were untrue and unfair and we retract them. The DCCC extends its sincere apology to Mr. Adelson and his family for any injury we have caused."

The e-mail was issued en masse to reporters.

I'd say the DCCC ought to be ashamed of themselves, but then I know the sort of people I'm talking about. A mere apology and retraction seems hardly enough for the vile attack, especially since one of Sheldon and Dr, Miriam Adelson's charities that they fund is devoted to rescuing prostitutes from drug addiction, getting them off the streets and helping them build new lives.

Kol Tov, Mr. Adelson.

Well done.

Essentially this seems to be a tactic of some people, Democrats and various anti-American groups. Make an accusation no matter how ridiculous or unsubstantiated it is, repeat it over and over again, and have the media repeate it over and over again. I recall hearing about this and something about "Chinese prostitution" money.

It seems the Chinese might have something to say about this. If the accusations leveled against Mr. Adelson were true and they happend in China, it semes Chinese authorities would have been aware of these things. Now that the DCCC has retracted these charges and admitted they were unsubstantiated, Mr. Aldelson has been slandered. So were the Chinese.

Is it wise to insult your leading supplier of manufactured goods that you need for basic living? I'd think not. At best, the Democrats would have only gained a small short term domestic political advantage. The cost would have been and likely is to anger one of the most powerful and influential countries on earth at a time when America is in a desparate position. I must say, when it comes to foregin policy and international relations, the instincts of the American are atrocious.
