Saudis to continue to aid Hamas

Hamas Politbureau Chief Khaled Meshaal was all smiles after talks in Riyadh with Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal and Prince Muqrin bin Abdul-Aziz, the Saudi intelligence chief.Hamas says gets Saudi promise on continued aid - Yahoo! News

"They affirmed that political and financial aid to the Palestinian Authority and Palestinian people would continue," delegation member Ezzat El-Resheq told al-Reuters news agency in Riyadh.

Condi Rice had asked the Saudis pretty please not to fund the terrorist group, but as always when it comes to Islamic terrorism, our `eternal friends' to quote President Bush told her politely to go pound sand.

This is an interesting little waltz because of the Saudi connections with the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas' parent organizaton and their long time funding of fundamentalist groups like Hamas. Among other Muslim Brotherhood offshoots that the Saudis fund is the American Islamist groups CAIR and the Muslim Students Association.

After all, it the Saudis wouldn't comply with Rice and Bush envoy Karen Hughes' request to quit exporting jihad to America, why would they stop funding jihad directed against Israel? J O S H U A P U N D I T: Pretty Please?? Hughes asks Saudis to curb hate literature in US mosques.

One interesting thing is that the Saudis made Hamas do an audit..and found 37,000 fictitious positions on the Palestinian Authority payroll! Now I wonder where that money ended up...
