New RNC Chairman: Michael Steele

Can he bring the Republicans back? Time will tell.

He has a better chance of doing so than John McCain.

He's not a very inspirational speaker. Of course, that shouldn't matter so long as he knows his active measures.

What, now we go and find our own "magic Negro"?

This is a very, very sad day for America. The election of Steele proves that the Republican party will not go in the direction they need to for the sake of our country. They can expect to be in the minority for quite some time to come.

Are you a true conservative or just a kool aid drinker? If you are a true conservative then you would listen to what this other true conservative has to say about him.

Steve Deace is so right about him.

He's a RINO. On that we can be clear. This proves that the Republican Party's move to the Left might be a permanent legacy of the Bush years.

Hello Greg,
I find your comments extremely offensive. You obviously have no idea of how difficult it is to be an identified black conservative.

Blacks and Hispanics are a natural conservative contituency if they're approached properly, and if the circumstance of Michael Steele's race helps that along, fine by me.

Your reference to him as a 'magic negro' implies that he was picked solely for that reason, which is NONSENSE.

Michael Steele was a Lieutenant governor in an extremely blue state and appears to be a pragmatic politician, which is exactly what the GOP needs. Rudy Giuliani, who would have made an excellent president had the same circumstances to deal with an dwas able to govern by concensus without sacrificing principle.Sarah Palin is another example of a direction th eRepublican party needs to go in if it is to change and survive.

If the GOP can bridge that gap, they will be successful in future. If not, get used to permnanet minority status and a gradual fading away as a third party takes over.

Did my third comment here get lost in the moderation folder?

Hi Ymarsakar,
Comments normally go automatically to a dedicated e-mail address, and I can moderate them from there or from th emoderation screen onsite.

Yours is not there nor is it in the comments moderation panel, so I'm afraid it disappeared.Mormally when that happens people have forgotten to hit 'publish', but it could have been som eother kind of glitch. Please feel free to put it up again.

Regards,
Rob

I was wondering where the people who said America was moving closer to terrorism and death squads, by supporting the Sunni Al Anbar Awakening, came from. Now I know, don't I.
