Air America's Randi Rhodes Suspended; Calls Hillary A Whore

Air America Loudmouth Randi Rhodes was suspended indefinitely for repeatedly insulting Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro at an event sponsored by KKGN, the Air America affiliate in the San Francisco Bay area, on March 22.

Here's a giggle - Charlie Kireker, the chair of Air America, said the radio network “encourages strong opinions about public affairs but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language by our hosts.”

Now, I personally heard Randi Rhodes,live on the air, encourage our troops in Iraq to desert and to call for President Bush to be treated like Fredo in the 'Godfather':"You take him out in a boat, give him two behind the ear and badda-bing badda boom, it's all over."

In the last instance, Rhode's producers must have had a quick screaming match with her during the commercial break and explained to her what the word felony meant,because she came back on the air and dismissed what she'd just spewed over the air waves as `kidding'.

My point is that Rhodes was not suspended nor did Air America issue an apology for blatant sedition during wartime and an incitement to murder a sitting president. But let her insult a Democrat icon and that's an entirely more serious matter....

Orwell indeed had it right.
