Cartoon Wars Imam to leave Denmark

According to the Jerusalem Post , one of the catalysts behind the riots over the published cartooons of Muhammed has decided to leave Denmark, according to the paper that originally published the Motoons, the Jyllands-Posten.

Imam Ahmed Abu Laban said he has felt `humiliated' in the aftermath of the cartoon riots and that he would leave Denmark to return to Gaza with his family.

"I have recently felt that I am being viewed as a simple terrorist. No human being can accept that. It is an extreme humiliation," Abu Laban was quoted as saying. "I have taken the decision to leave Denmark."

Abu Laban was originally settled in Denmark as a `Palestinian' refugee. After his defation suit against the Jyllands-Posten for publishing the MoToons was dismissed by Denmark's top prosecutor who said the drawings did not violate laws against racism or blasphemy, Abu Laban repaid his adopted country by stirring the pot overseas, including providing Muslims overseas with fake MoToons that never appeared in the newspaper and inciting riots that led to deaths, sacked embassies and economic boycotts of Danish goods. He also had a major part in the little reported `sympathy' riots in Aalborg at the time of Le IntiFadeh Francais.

Check this out:"I believe that the Islamic cause has been a test for the Western democracies. I believe it has been proven that the Western democracies have no room for human rights," he was quoted as saying.

In January, police questioned Abu Laban over secretly taped comments that appeared to allude to terrorism. No charges were made. I suppose they're just glad to get rid of him.

Denmark's gain, a loss for the rest of us.
