The Qu'ran vs. Mein Kampf

This ought to stir things up a bit.

I've gotten a lot of e-mail on the Orianna Fallaci story I posted, in which the noted author compared the Qu'ran to Hitler's `Mein Kampf'. Just for posting this, I got the usual hysterical accusations of racism and bigotry from a whole raft of self-described `liberals' who have probably never read either book! Though I would certainly bet Fallaci has, given her record. Most of the apologists for the toleration of Islamic fascism happened to mention the Crusades and the Inquisition..both of which happened centuries ago, have no modern counterpart and killed a fraction as many people as 1500 years of jihad.

Fallaci made a simple and objective factual statement, easily proved or disproved. Since I've also read both books (and believe me, it wasn't easy going) I thought I'd examine this.

Let's rock'n roll, shall we?

Mein Kampf- States that Germans are the superior race of mankind and that Germany is destined to rule the world , and dominate all other races and nations.

Q'uran-States that Islam and Muslims are the superiors of mankind and that Islam is divinely mandated to rule the world and dominate all other races, creeds and nations.
****************************************************************
Mein Kampf-Says that the German State is to have control over every aspect of life. Says all individuals must submit to the State

The Q'uran-Says that Islam and Sharia is to have control over every aspect of life. Says all individuals must submit to Islam.
*************************************************************
Mein Kampf-Says that Germans have the duty to claim their divinely appointed place in the world by whatever means necessary. Puts loyalty to the Volk(the race)above all other ethical considerations.

The Q'uran-Says that Muslims have a duty to wage Jihad and to advance Islam's domination over the world (Dar Islam and Dar Harb) by any means necessary. Places loyalty to fellow Muslims(Umma)and Islam above all other ethical considerations.
**********************************************************************
Mein Kampf-Mandates that men are superior to women and that women's place should be limited to procreation, the kitchen and the home.

The Q'uran-Mandates that men are superior to women and that women's place should be limited to procreation, the kitchen and the home. (Admittedly, the Q'uran goes quite a bit farther than Mein Kamph on this topic)
********************************************************************
Mein Kampf-Says that homosexuals are `race traitors' and should be condemned to death. (Many, in fact were murdered in the concentration camps).

The Q'uran-Says homosexuals are unholy to Allah and should be condemned to death
**************************************************************************
Mein Kampf-Sets out a detailed model for world conquest, including rules for how conquered peoples are to be suppressed and dominated by the German race. States that the wealth, resources and property of subject peoples belongs to Germans by right and the right to life for subject peoples is dependent on Germans. States that non-Germans have no legal or civil rights.

The Q'uran-Sets out a detailed model for world conquest, including rules for how conquered peoples are to be suppressed and dominated by Muslims. States that the wealth, resources and property of subject peoples belongs to Muslims by right and the right to life for subject peoples is dependent onMuslims. States that non-Muslims have no legal or civil rights. (in truth, a lot of this has it's basis in the Hadith and the Sunna, but both derive essentially from what's in the Q'uran., along with all the other aspects of Sharia)
*******************************************************************
Mein Kampf-Divides the world into `German land' and enemy territory. States that land with Germans living in it or land that once had Germans ruling it rightfully belongs to Germany, and Germany is entitled to get it back by any means necessary.

The Q'uran-Divides the world into `Dar Islam' (Muslim ruled land) and enemy territory (Dar Harb). States that land with Muslims living in it or land that once had Muslims ruling it rightfully belongs to Dar Islam, and Muslims are entitled to get it back by any means
necessary.
*******************************************************************

Mein Kampf-Blames the Jews for society's ills and says that they will be exterminated.

The Q'uran-Blames the Jews for society's ills and says that they will be exterminated. (`On the day of Judgement the rocks and trees will call out `O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me! Come and slay him!’)
*************************************************
Whoopsie.

There are lots of other striking parallels, but I think you get the point.

Are all Muslims Nazis? Nah. But the Q'uran ain't your average religious scripture either. As I've said more than once,Islam is a political ideology hiding inside a religion.

Fortunately, there's more to it than that. Even Mein Kampf had a few positive bits (not many, I assure you!). It's all in how it's applied. I don't agree with Fallaci that there's no such thing as `moderate Islam'. But moderate Islam is a VERY selective reading of the Qu'ran and Hadith and frankly, not a majority position in the Islamic world. It involves a complete tossing away of the jihadi mentality, and as such is a minority position in Islam today. That's one reason why so few Muslims in America have denounced Islamic terrorism unequivically.

I'll take a further look at this and it's implications for the West in a future post.

explain to me how this is supposed to stir things up??????

does the kooran say anything about the buses running on time?

Freedom Fighter said...

Actually, the Qu'ran addresses that in the same sense Mein Kampf
does; by submitting everything to a central authority and governing everything by a rigid philosophy.

The commies called it `the dialectic'.

As for stirring things up, comparing the Qu'ran and Mein Kampf has already proven to be a tad provocative, if my e-mails ar any indication.

Great summary!

does the kooran say anything about the buses running on time?

No but it justifies Mohammad’s raiding caravans and killing those who resist.

Islam is a supremacist ideology. Although, on paper it favors exploitation; in practice it achieved genocide quite often. See Bostom's book on Jihad.

Freedom Fighter said...

Yes, I've seen it.

I also recommend Efriam Karsh's new book on Islamic imperialism.

Jason Pappas said...

Interesting you mentioned Karsh's new book as I was just talking about Karsh's book (actually the author I quoted was talking about Karsh's new book) over at IBA. I've got to read it!

You are totally correct, Links. And you've seen this up close and personal, as I know.

Nothing like a bit of totalitarianism to ruin the whole day, eh?

And let's not forget the Hitler Youth. See the following article about what American Muslims teach their kids. They are taught to hate and despise the Kaffirs from their earliest years. I sometimes wonder if you took all the hatred out of Islam whether there would be anything left.

brilliant. I would probably add that
a) the crusades, though despicable in some ways, came about 3 centuries after the beginning of islamic invasions of north africa and southern europe, and would pale by any standard in terms of violence etc. compared to the caliphs' jihads;
b) that the west may be and have been imperfect, but it has evolved enormously over the last millennium whereas islam has not. not a bit, indeed.

best all, vincenzo

Freedom Fighter said...

I concur, Vincenzo.

One must look at the Crusades in context..they occurred as a direct rsult of Muslim aggression against the West.

I'm glad you liked the article.

Something that bugs me. If, as you say, "moderate Islam is a VERY selective reading of the Qu'ran and Hadith", doesn't this cherry-picking suggest that maybe the so-called moderate Islam isn't the real Islam after all?

Thank you, Freedom for the link. You have a fine site.

As for your other comment, I think it behooves us not to try and define what `real Islam' is.

That's for the Muslims to do.

I have a lot of admiration for those Muslims who are risking their actual physical safety to try and differentiate their Islam from the jihadi mentality.

It may not be possible but I admire what they are doing and wish them well, for all our sakes.
We need to encourage.which we are most emphatically NOT doing in America and Europe.

Here in the West, we are eventually going to have to come up with a solution to this problem from our point of view.

And that will involve defining jihad Islam and moderate Islam.

More on this in a future post, I promise!

Thanks for weighing in.

My, my. These days, the air is so thick with accusations of Nazism, I can scarcely run a Google search without picking up some spittle-soaked invective. Well, I'm glad to see that you're finally catching up with the Palestinians.

Just a question: do you see problems with selectively comparing the Koran to Mein Kampf without holding other religions' scripture to the same standard? Because the Bible describes the genocide of seven nations by the Israelites as the triumph of God's chosen people over the faithless. Psalm 137 praises those who smash infidel babies against the rock. Your statement that "the Q'uran ain't your average religious scripture" is simply wrong.

If you want to argue that the modern incarnation of Islam is more extreme and repressive than modern Judaism or Christianity, then I won't disagree with you. If you try to make specious denunciations predicated on your half-baked analysis of the holy book, though, I'm just going to call you an idiot.

Idiot.

Freedom Fighter said...

Well, talk about `selective interpetations'..and idiots!

Your interpetation of Psalm 137 is a mite...uh..fanciful, to say the least.
Psalm 137

It is a lament by a people kidnapped and enslaved against their will by the Babylonians, and wishes evil on them specifically for the evil they have done...and says NOTHING about infidels. Very different than the proactive and aggressive calls for jihad and murder against ALL infidels regardless rife in the Qu'ran.

Read the Psalm again and take notes.

As for the destruction of the Canaanites, read up on them sometime. They were hardly an admirable lot. And there is no nation on earth that was not formed by the sword in it's antiquity..including Britain, Bubba(I assume that's where you hail from.)

Talk to the Irish, Welsh and Scots sometime. or the ancient Celts, for that matter.

As I said , the Qu'ran ain't your average religious scripture. Quod et demonstradum,Bubba.

In any case, I'm concerned with MODERN times, the here and now, and how Islam is practiced in fact.

I defy you to find ANYTHING in this post which is not factual. I'm certain that any reading you've done of the Qu'ran or Mein Kampf is on a par with your Biblical literacy.

Does that mean that Muslims should be demonized? No, it doesn't. But it does mean that we in the West have to take an honest look at Islam and especially its political, imperialist side.

Many Muslims, especially here inthe West recognize this problem and are taking incredibly brave risks to try and fix it.

PC stupidity and blind acceptance of the negative aspects of the Qu'ran does them no credit..or you.

BTW, you are welcome here anytime..but keep a civil tongue in your head and don't talk rot. I won't tolerate it.

The thing is, we are at war (not that we chose to), and war implies the necessity to define the enemy. Islam concerns us too, willy nilly.

"I have a lot of admiration for those Muslims who are risking their actual physical safety to try and differentiate their Islam from the jihadi mentality."
Yup. Too bad they are a minority.

Defining our enemy is different in my eyes than defining `real Islam'..unless we're going to declare war on every Muslim.

A blog that delves a bit deeper into this topic may be of interest. Dr. Andrew Bostom has a significant post discussing these connections here:
Islam as an “Ur Fascism,” or “Islamo(fig leaf)fascism”?
http://www.andrewbostom.org/blog/2008/01/28/islam-as-an-%e2%80%9cur-fascism%e2%80%9d-or-%e2%80%9cislamofig-leaffascism%e2%80%9d/

Perhaps you would consider an updated thread to this topic as well.

I think that these brave "muslims" that are risking their necks to "fix" Islam are deluding themselves.
There's no such thing as "moderate Islam". Or one either accepts and embraces Islam as perscribed in their holy books or one invents a completely new religion.
Some people cherry-pick trivialities of their religions in order to accomodate it to their interests or conveniences.
But to deny the core commandments of Islam, i.e unquestioned submission to the word of Allah and it's prophet as the ultimate goal of all muslims and eventually the whole world (jihad in one word), one ceases to be a muslim.
In Islam one is either a believer or a kaffir.
No middle term.

Mein Kampf-Blames the Jews for society's ills and says that they will be exterminated.

Mein Kampf says nothing about extermination.

Your blog is moderated, so I doubt you'd dare to publish my comments.

Islam is a big threath to the World, but so are lies. Please don't lie.

Anonymous said...

Oh! Thanks for publishing my comment with criticism!

What IS true about Hitler is that he admired the muslim fanatism. Not the religion itself. Islam is not only a faith, but a practical religion of warriors and victors.

Even though both Hitler and islamists did and do evil deeds, one could argue that we in the Western World should be more fanatic about preserving our freedom and stop islam from spreading. In a few decades islam will be the dominating religion in Europe if nothing is done, not only destroying us who lives here, but also a big threat to the U.S.

Both christians and secularists in the West should unite against islam. Too much of modern "tolerance" will kill us all.

Freedomwriter said...

Islam as an ideology is AT WAR with all things non-Islamic. Be it the Bamiyan Buddha statues or normal Western people.

And like any war, this war too can not be won by GIVING LIVES. We need to fight darkness with light. It has to start with a simple slogan “DO NOT TOLERATE THE INTOLERANT”. That slogan should automatically debar any citizen of an Islamic Country (say Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh) from setting foot on any western country. If they (the “MUSLIMS” from these countries) want to have a taste of ‘FREEDOM’ – let them first give it in writing that they don't believe in their evil faith.

The power of ISLAM is *FEAR* – and that can be overcome with only COURAGE. The more these idiots try to instill fear in the minds of the unbelievers, we unbelievers need to give them their own excrement to eat.

It can be done by promoting anything pro-humanist & anti-Islamist – including Salman Rushdie, Theo Van Gough’s works, Geert Wilders to Dr. Terry Jones.

We all might disagree with each one of them in one point or another – but we must support them against Islam.

Freedom Fighter said...

I think Islamism is the problem, not Islam per se. And I'll take a pass on supporting Jones.

I'd also be careful about a blanket ban, since there are non-Muslims seeking asylum from some of these countries, and even some Muslims who desire to live in a free society. I agree with you that extremely careful vetting is required, and that's unfortunately not happening now.

Otherwise I agree with you.

Usman said...

ooo. whats going on? well the problem seems the attitude of Muslims towards non Muslims, in specific jehad? somebody in the comments said that. a muslim either accepts Allah and his prophet without question or one is a non-muslim, there is nothing in between. but if you believe in the authority of the God and His prophet does not mean you are extremist. it is the interpretation of quran and ahadiths that terrorist use to legalize there attacks. Such kind of people exist in every religion. for example "JEHAD" does not mean holy war, grab an Arabic dictionary and you will find it means to struggle. Struggle towards ones inner impurities like ego and social injustice etc etc. And talking about freedom. I being in western european country, respect the believes of people here and in turn want the same for my believe and I am happy that i am getting the respect. I dont care of people are walking nude on the beach or wearing crosses. We do enjoy the freedom of our country, for example my wife can go out with her scarf on, unlike france and some European countries. Thats what i really like about my country. I am a practising muslim and believe in each and every word on Quran and Authentic Sayings of the Prophet. Has that made me an extremist? No not at all. So whats the big deal.

Oh and let me assure you that your true enemy is not the Islam, no not the muslims either, its only a small cult of sick minded people with the label of muslims. I hope it makes sense and it makes through a rational moderator. hahaahaha

Rob said...

The comments are the comments Usman, but I take responsibility for what I wrote, namely that the problem is Islamism, not Islam. so we agree there.

The problem is that a significant number of Muslims ( not just ' a small cult of sick minded people') consider the Qu'ran as holy writ, unalterable. And it is absolutely rife with Jew hatred, hatred of non-Muslims, misogyny and the attitudes I mention in the article.Plus, another problem is the hadiths, which as you mention in your comment deal with the life, times and sayings of Mohammed, who Muslims consider the perfect man, worthy of emulation.

I have no doubt you're a nice guy in person, but when you write 'I am a practising muslim and believe in each and every word on Quran and Authentic Sayings of the Prophet. Has that made me an extremist?' I have to do a double take.

Try these on for size:

Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number. God does not guide the wrongdoers. —Koran 5:51

Fighting is obligatory for you, much as you dislike it. - 2:216

Fight those who believe neither in God nor the Last Day, nor what has been forbidden by God and his messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, even if they are People of the Book, until they pay the tribute and have been humbled. - 9:29

O Prophet! Make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites. Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end. - 9:73

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 177:Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. “O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.”

The Qu'ran also sanctifies killing homosexuals, wife beating, deception to non-Muslims and death for anyone who leaves Islam.

Do you believe these things are right and holy, and things good Muslims should act on?

Regards,
Rob

What verse in the Quran is the Jew hiding behind a tree quote from?

Rob said...

As the comment above yours says, it is from the Muslim scripture known as the Hadiths,Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 177 the account of the life, deeds and sayings of Mohammed by his followers similar to the Christian Gospels and likewise considered binding on Muslims by all four major fiqhs (schools of Muslim jurisprudence)of Islam.

The same quote can be found in many other hadiths, including Sahih Muslim, Book 041, Number 6985 Unless they're all lying, Mohammed said this . Given the Muslim ethnic cleansing of Jews from the Arabian peninsula along the lines of the treatment meted out to the Jewish Banu Qurayza tribe, according to Ibn Ishaq in Sirat Rasul Allah, p. 464, they weren't misstating what Mohammaed said,

The Qu'ran itself is also rotten with Jew hatred. As examples of it's central anti-Jewish motif, the Qu'ran decrees an eternal curse upon the Jews (Koran 2:61/ 3:112) for transgressing against the will of Allah. This motif is coupled to Koranic verses 5:60 and 5:78 which describe the Jews transformation into apes and swine (5:60), having been “…cursed by the tongue of David, and Jesus, Mary’s son” (5:78). The related verse, 5:64, accuses the Jews—as Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas did in a January 2007 speech, citing Koran 5:64—of being “spreaders of war and corruption,” a sort of ancient Koranic antecedent of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

The seminal Qur’anic commentator Suyuti—referring to 5:60—claims that this apes/swine transformation is punishment for the Jews moral depravity, even Satan worship, resulting in their ultimate damnation to Hellfire.

It was the British-appointed islamist Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj-Amin al-Husseini who translated the Qu'raninto Arabio when he wasn't recruiting Bosnian Muslims to fight in Hitler's SS. It is still a best seller in the Arab world today.
