The Latest Pallywood production

Look at the stories today on the wire services and you see a whole slew of items about those heartless Israelis massacring children in Beit Hanoun in Gaza.

Or did they?

While the usual suspects(and of course, their Western apologists) trumpet about Israeli war crimes, something smells more than a little fishy.

The Israeli artillary fire into a 'residential building' in Beit Hanoun looks suspiciously like another PallyWood Production similar to `Gaza Beach Blanket Bingo' released earlier this year. We all remember that sleazy little `masterpiece.

As Carl in Israel Matzav notes, the circumstances here are suspiciously initial apology from the rather clueless Israeli Defence Minister Peretz before all the facts are in, and later information that make it obvious that the Palestinians may just have set this up deliberately.

For one thing, the IDF is now reporting that 10 of the 12 fired shells hit their targets, some distance from that `residential building'. And the `residential building' itself was the site of numerous qassam rockets fired into Israel.

Over 13 Israelis have died from these attacks.

It's also important to remember the charming Palestinian custom of using women and children as human shields.

The IDF retaliation in Gaza followed a barrage of Kassam rockets which hit Ashkelon, Israel's 13th-largest city, yesterday, and barrages that have hit Sderot over the past several months. Monday, rockets struck a school in Ashkelon, and two more slammed into the city's industrial zone. The whole reason for the `Autumn Clouds' offensive is the constant qassam rocket barrages on Ashkelon, Sderot and Beersheeba, and the attempt bythe IDF to cope with the massive weapons smuggling and fortified tunnels inGaza, in total violation of the security agreements made between the US, Egypt, Israel and the Palestinians when the Israelis retreated from Gaza.

MK Yuval Shteinitz (Likud), a former Chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, said this morning, "With all the sorrow about the deaths of civilians, the responsibility for this tragedy lies squarely and fully on the shoulders of the terrorists, who use the citizens of Beit Hanoun as a human shield while they shoot at the city of Sderot."

"International law states clearly," Shteinitz added, "that the responsibility for harm to civilians is upon those who use them as human shields, and not upon those who fight [the terrorists]."

I couldn't have put it better myself.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the IDF investigation ultimately reveals a `work accident' as th eculprit for the deaths.

This time,of course, the Palestinians have smartened up a bit and sent no injured victims to israel for treatment. One of the things that revealed the `Gaza Beach Blanket Bingo' was a Pallywood production was that the the bits of shrapnel removed from some of the victims the Palestinians sent to Israeli hospitals for treatment weren't made of the metal the IDF uses for its shells.

Of course, if the Palestinians REALLY cared about peace and about the welfare of their people, maybe they would stop trying to kill Israelis and quit firing rockets into Israeli cities.

But of course, we know the answer to that one, don't we?
