Obama Appoints John "American Taliban" Lindh's zealous lawyer, to the Justice Department's Civil Rights division. Tony West also, conveniently enough, helped raise $65 million for Obama in California as a state finance co-chair during the campaign. Whadda cowinkydink, hmmm? Maybe there's a Supreme Court judgeship or federal bench vacancy in it for the San Francisco based attorney eventually.

The Politico: Steele backs off abortion remarks — RNC Chairman Michael Steele stepped in it again.
After telling an interviewer he supports “individual choice” and state-level decisions on abortion, now he had an RNC spokesperson tell the media he in fact opposes abortion and supports a Constitutional ban!
Why he is falling into a media trap and getting involved in this controversy at all when his promary job is to rebuild the party is beyond me. Apparently a good many Republicans are more than a little disgruntled with his stumbling thus far. Word is that if Jim Tedesco doesn't win the special election for NY Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's old House seat Steele is outta there.
