Farrakhan: Jews 'Satanic', 'Pushing US Into War'
Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam spoke last Sunday at the Nation's annual Saviours' Day convention in Chicago and had a number of interesting things to say.
Speaking before a crowd of 18,000 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Farrakhan said, “What you are looking at in Tunisia, in Egypt, in Yemen, in Jordan, in Libya, in Bahrain will soon, very soon be in all the nations of the world . . . and even sooner take place in America. What you see happening there, you’d better prepare because it will be coming to your door, America.”
Of course, what the AP and the Chicago Sun-Times didn't think worthy of mention were Farrakhan's other remarks on his favorite topic - the Jews.
He claimed that Jews and Zionists are "trying to push the U.S. into war" in Libya and elsewhere, adding that "Zionists dominate the government of the United States of America and her banking system."
"President Obama, if you allow the Zionists to push you, to mount a military offensive against [Libyan leader Muammar] Gaddafi and you go in and kill him and his sons as you did with Saddam Hussein and his sons, I'm warning you this is a Libyan problem, let the Libyans solve their problem among themselves," Farrakhan said before a crowd of about 18,000.
Farrakhan went on to refer to Khaddiffi as his "friend" and "my brother." And well he might. In 1984, Louis Farrakhan and Reverend Jeremiah Wright traveled to Libya to be the guests of Muammar al-Khaddaffi in Libya, which was followed by Farrakhan becoming the recipient of an interest free $5 million loan from Khaddaffi in 1985. And in 1996 Khaddaffi presented Farrakhan with his 'International Prize for Human Rights', along with a $250,000 cash award.
At a panel at the conference entitled "The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews" (named after an anti-Semitic work of historical fiction claiming that Jews were the primary movers and shakers of the slave trade, rather than Muslims)Farrakhan weighed in again, saying:
“Some of you think that I’m just somebody who’s got something out for the Jewish people. You’re stupid. Do you think I would waste my time if I did not think it was important for you to know Satan? My job is to pull the cover off of Satan so that he will never deceive you and the people of the world again.”
No,he's not your garden variety Jew hater, not Louis Farrakhan! He's got a mission.
These remarks were barely reported until Drudge made a Jerusalem Post story on the matter his headline.
Riddle me this...imagine a white clergyman had made similar remarks about Muslims or about blacks. Do you have a feeling that our president might have a few things to say about it?
Now, I'm not necessarily saying that President Obama subscribes to these views. It's just that he has deep, intimate and long standing ties to people that do, he's probably used to hearing this sort of thing in normal discourse and doesn't really consider it any big deal.
His racial sensitivity only cuts one way, if you take my meaning.
