Ahmadinejad And The Saudi King Have A Phone conversation

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Saudi King Abdullah apparently had an in depth phone conversation while Ahmadinejad was in Lebanon on various matters.

No one's revealing what they talked about, but I have a feeling the conversation covered the make up of the new Iraqi government which is in Iran's pocket via it's control of Moqtada al-Sadr,and perhaps some guarantees of some sort for Iraq's Sunnis.

And I wouldn't have been surprised to hear Ahmadinejad telling Abdullah that with the Americans leaving and Obama in charge for the next two years, the Saudis are going to need some new friends in the region..

I'm sure they also discussed joint plans to fight the Americans and the Israelis. What most people don't or can't understand is that the Saudis and the Iranians hate America more than they hate each other. As such, they will work together to vanquish a common foe. After common enemies are vanquished, there will be plenty of time to resume the Sunni/Shia feud.

As such, it is naive for anyone to think we are somehow going to utilize the Sunni/Shia divide to our advantage. A strategy needs to be formulated to defeat both Shia and Sunni Islamic terrorism.

The Saudis authored any problems they may have with Iran when they did not support the Americans during Iraqi Freedom and afterwards. Had they have supported us, the Iraqi government would be friendly to Saudi Arabia right now. The problem was it might actually be cooperative to America. The Saudis could not have that.
