Levi Johnston - True To Type

Cement head and classless baby daddy Levi Johnston whose sole accomplishment in life was knocking up 17-year-old Bristol Palin is at it again.

He's featured in a bogus 'tell-all' interview in Vanity Fair Magazine (where else?) that basically recaps the same sort of totally unfounded jailbait sex smut and Sarah Palin dish he's been peddling to try and get a book deal. What's even more disturbing is that outlets like the AP are covering this as a 'news' item - along with every lefty blog imaginable.I'd say they ought to be embarrassed, but then, I know who I'm talking about.

A few weeks ago there were massive rumors being pushed that Todd Palin was sleeping on the couch, etc., and the Palins were close to divorce, all citing an "insider source." Well, I guess we know this sleaze is their "source."

Daniel Terrapin provides some facts on Johnston's allegations, including a number of contradictions out of Johnston's own mouth - if anyone cares.

Whatever Bristol Palin did, she obviously did out of a badly mistaken sense of love. Levi, on the other hand, has no problem peddling his ass for the money, and luckiest thing that ever happened to Bristol Palin was avoiding becoming Mrs. Johnston. And Vanity Fair and the other outlets licking their chops and running with this garbage ought to consider how a teen might feel having her personal life besmirched in public like this simply to try and destroy her mother.

As for this male whore's 'revelations' - like the Palins were going to discuss intimate family details and plans with him just because this creep was sweating on top of their teenage daughter? Puh-leeze.

I'm sure Letterman's people are already booking him.

There's actually a serious side to this.

When the Angry Left plays dirty in this fashion, they don't consider that it could be done right back to them, and that their howls of protest will be met by the riposte "What about what your side did to the Palins?" Not good.

Because when potential political figures on either side of the spectrum see this sort of filth, they'll think about their families and simply opt out of getting involved in governing the country. That tends to lead to a pool of less qualified candidates who don't truly represent their constituents interests or govern efficiently but treat everything as a media event. That just might help explain the sorry state of Congress and local governments today. Not to mention the sort of people we've had running for president over the last 15 years or so.

More like a cesspool!

i can't agree with ff on this point, and this is why.
#1 the media will not cover the story the same, if at all.
#2 remember the tee shirts that were popular during the 2008 presidential campaign? palin is a c-nt. with the exception of myself, i heard no one refer to sotomayor as a c-nt. conservatives, with the exception of myself, just won't do it.
why?
that's a separate thread, is it not?

Hi Steve,
Well said!

Hi Louie,
Every time something like this happens, the bar gets lowered. You'll recall in my obit of Ted Kennedy I mentioned that his scurrilous, libelous attack on Robert Bork changed the entire political chemistry in DC. So has the Palin sliming. I have noticed a noticeable increase in attacks on Obama that concentrate on the personal ( many of them deserved, some not).

As for the media not covering it the same way, that's a given, but the dinosaur media is also without the same influence it used to have, and since the election their bias has been increasingly under scrutiny.

That's why Obama and the Left ae devoting so much attention to the 'net and talk radio.

Oh, and as to why conservatives 'won't do it' they frequently do. It's merely expressed a lot more covertly because as you note, the rules for conservatives are different.

If Palin were a Democrat, there would be howls from the media about how the "Palin family privacy must be respected." Can we say double standard?

Mrs. Palin is the former Governor of Alaska and she has a small but enthusasitic support base. In other words, at this point in time she hardly wields much influence within the Republican party. It is baffling to me why the media spends so much time on her.

While I personally like Sarah Palin, her influence is much less than is being portrayed by her enemies in the media. I suppose, if you want to vilify something or someone, you must first assign it more power than it actually has. This will make the target of vilfication much easier to vilify.

Btw, your last paragraph nails it!! I have had pretty much the same thoughts.

They don't consider it, because they KNOW that they will not be out of power. There is something very nasty happening in this "post democratic age" (sorry, can't remember who said it first). At present politics is all about eliminating any competition, by adopting the sort of behaviour that has been perfected by corporations such as Microsoft currently, Standard Oil in the late 1800s, and plenty in between, as they eliminate their competitors.
