The President has released the speech he plans to deliver in American classrooms tomorrow, and even though it is likely quite different than the one he originally planned on giving before all the controversy, it's still very revealing.G-d only knows what he would have tried to get away with before this was exposed to the light.
For instance, get this - the speech has 56 repetitions of the word "I" in it..more than the repetitions of the words “school” (19), “education” (10) “responsibility”(8), “country” (7), “parents” and “teachers” ( 5 each), and “nation” (3) - combined.
Ummm, narcissism, anyone?
Of course, the speech itself is not the problem. It's the study guide and supplemental assignments, given out by the White House Department of Education and assigned by the ever helpful Teacher Figures.
For instance, these biographies of the president, helpfully suggested by the D of E and assigned by NEA apparatchniks nationwide.
'Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope'??? A few choice bits..
"Ever since Barack Obama was young, Hope has lived inside him. From the beaches of Hawaii to the streets of Chicago, from the jungles of Indonesia to the plains of Kenya, he has held on to Hope. Even as a boy, Barack knew he wasn’t quite like anybody else, but through his journeys he found the ability to listen to Hope and become what he was meant to be: a bridge to bring people together."
"He was there in Chicago because he cared about these people. They were his family. People in Kenya were his family. Indonesians were his family. And no matter where he was, the world was his home. And who he was could be summed up in one word: loveable."
This:
When Barack wasn’t studying he liked to jog along the Hudson River. He couldn’t help but notice the river of hurt and hate and history that separated blacks and whites. Being both, he could not take sides. Don’t worry, said Hope. I will be your bridge. In time you will be the bridge for others.
Oh, and this bit, about Rev Wright and Trinity United:
When his classes came to an end, he raced to Chicago to join hands with the church, to learn new lessons: Not how to be black or white, but how to be a healer, how to change things, how to make a difference in the world.
Or this..
One sun-drenched day, as his wife Michelle stood by, Barack smiled on a sea of faces from Wichita to Waikiki. He saw whites and blacks, rich and poor, Christians and Muslims and Jews; he saw the ghosts of his parents, of Gramps and Toot, of Martin Luther King, Jr. and JFK. And on that special day Barack was the bridge that held them all together. “I want to be your president,” he said. “Can we make America better? Can we work together, as one?” With a single voice the crowd called out, “Yes! We can!”
All hail our Dear Leader!
The other book, simply titled "Barack" by Jonah Winter is just as bad, but you can find quotes from that at the link if you're a glutton for punishment.
Perhaps now you see what the fuss is about.
We have never seen in our history before a White House so engaged in a 24/7 campaign mode, so resistant to any kind of transparency and so willing to use the offices of the White House to flag and attack dissent and political 'enemies'.
Nor have we ever had a president so involved in the cult of personality, so unconcerned with being divisive, or so willing to lie and dissemble and be so secretive about his past.
Barack Obama's sense of himself and his deepest held beliefs are simply suspect. And it's always stuff like these lesson plans and assignments that's deliberately hidden from view that reveals the ultimate agenda.
No matter how innocuous President Obama's speech may seem on the surface, the underlying context of having him do this is simply wrong, because of the way he's conducted himself. It sends the wrong message, simply because messengers matter.
If President Obama finds that distressing, he has no one to blame but himself. And there's a simple remedy. Go before the American people, acknowledge that some major breaches of trust have occurred, detail a serious plan to fix the abuses, unseal records, accept resignations where necessary, follow through on it and then pledge publicly that it's not going to happen again. Unfortunately, with this president I expect that to happen the day the sun rises in the west.
This is, after all, the same man who saw nothing wrong with his children being exposed regularly to an avowed anti-American racist and anti-Semite in their church, a place Obama chose to worship at for over two decades.
So I don't consider him any kind of judge of what impressionable children ought to be told, whether it comes out of his mouth directly or is part of clandestine lesson plans and assignments enforced by his 'help'.
Keep your kids home tomorrow if they're so unfortunate as to still be in the public school system and your school administrator ignores your concerns and insists on showing this. And be sure carefully monitor any little 'assignments ' they may have gotten from Teacher and be prepared to kick up a fuss.
If your children do end up having to sit through this, see it again at home with them, and be ready to go over it and point out how often the president mentions himself as opposed to how often he mentions any of the qualities the speech is supposedly about. Explain to them what 'Narcissism ' means. Point out the president's own personal history when it comes to hard work and responsibility and give them proper information. Tell them, for example how 'hard work'(or at least Tony Rezco's and Saddam Hussein's bagman Nahdni Auchi's) was responsible for the Obama's getting their Hyde Park Mansion. at a below market price, or how hard work and responsibility figured in Michelle Obama's six figure no-show job as 'head of community relations' at Chicago University hospital as a quid pro quo for a million dollars in tax payer earmarks as Barack Obama became a US Senator. Explain to them what 'voting present' means and why being a US senator and holding the record for doing it is not very responsible. Use some pennies to show how tripling the national debt is not responsible and eventually results in no pennies for anyone when you really need them.
Use this for what President Obama would call 'a teachable moment.'
Don't let your kids be mind raped because you're not paying attention.
UPDATE: Michelle Malkin has the story - Broward County, Florida parents have been told by the school district that they won't be allowed to have their children opt out of the President's little shadow show because the administrators ' are committed to encouraging civics education in the broadest sense.'
So...who has control of your children?
A mandatory session of Obama Adulation, class. There will be a test afterwards, so pay attention and take careful notes!
I'm sure there's more of this in other places than just Broward County.

Send the kids or don’t send them…either way, they will find out what was said…with the media and people talking, it will get out…
Hi Lucy,
Oh, I very much want children to know what what was said...but with the supplemental material and discussion I suggested rather than the narcissistic deceptive puppychow Obama and his friends are peddling.
'Kay?

You just really hate that a black man is our president, don't you?
Well like it or not, we elected Obama to make a change, and it starts with the children. And he is the President now whether you like it or not, so doesn't that make you kind of a traitor as well as a bigot?
Hello 'Progressive',
Y'know,it's interesting that the first words out of you were a reference to the president's race which I've never even alluded to and and the assumption I hate black folks, something you have absolutely no evidence of whatsoever.
Ummm...doesn't that make you kind of a bigot?
You see, there's a problem with playing the race card nowadays..Obama has ruined the game for by simple overuse. It just doesn't work so well any more.
As for being a traitor..well, I should have known. Dissent is only patriotic when Good Progressive Ubermenschen like yourselves do it, right? (look it up)

Rob
As you say, it wasn't the speech, at least the printed speech, that people were so upset about, since it wasn't even written until the day before.
It was the curriculum materials created by the Obama administration that were to be presented prior and after the speech that were so objectionable.
It was also what was 'in between the lines ' as it always is with Obama.
The quotes from that book are amazing when looked at through clear eyes of what he actually did in his life up to this point, especially Jeremiah Wright.

Why do you object to kids having a good image of their president?
Ummm...perhaps because he doesn't rate it, is a self-serving narcissist with values I consider serve the country badly and because his spiel on hard work and responsibility is a load of horse manure coming from him.
I have a problem with people that lie to little kids for th esake of legitimizing a political agenda, hold themselves up as an example and use authority figures like teachers to try and legitimize it.
The Left has always been about gettin' 'em young.

Rob
