Zbigniew Brzezinski :Protect Iran And Shoot Down Those Jew Planes!

Another one of Obama's advisers has surfaced with blatantly anti-Semitic nonsense.

Zbigniew Brzezinski used to be Jimmy Carter's National Security Adviser,( yes, I know it sounds like a contradiction) and while he has no official position in the administration he's one of Obama's major foreign policy advisers.

In an interview with the Daily Beast, the following exchange took place with this bitter old failure:

Q:How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in America’s worst interest?

Brzezinski: We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?

Q: What if they fly over anyway?

Brzezinski: Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.

What Brzezinski is saying, essentially, is that the US should protect Iran's nuclear sites by shooting down the aircraft of our allies! And the 'Liberty' remark is an interesting slip.

The USS Liberty was an American spy ship operating in the war zone during the 1967 Six Day War, a conflict where the Soviets were deeply involved and the US was, in the words of President Johnson, 'Neutral in thought, word and deed.' Israel was not a US ally then, and we were not supplying them with arms.

The Israelis, suspecting that the Soviets were mounting a false flag operation to transmit intelligence to their Arab clients attacked the ship, killing 34 US crew members.

Both Israel and the US government conducted formal inquiries ( in the case of the US, seven separate inquiries) and concluded that the attack was a tragic error and a case of mistaken identity in wartime. The Israelis had no conceivable motive for attacking an American ship, considering that they were already taking on the Soviet Union in the Mideast. And as a matter of fact, on June 5, 1967 just before the war the Israelis made an attempt to avoid any such potential problems when the IDF asked the US to inform them of any of any U.S. ships operating in the area. The IDF was never informed about the Liberty, although they were informed about a number of other US ships in the area.

The Israeli government formally apologized. They paid out almost $7 million in 1968 dollars as compensation to the dead crewmen's families and the wounded, as well as an additional $6 million to the US government as compensation for damages to the ship and its equipment.

The Liberty incident is a staple of anti-Semitic fantasy websites* devoted to 'proving' that 'the Jews run America', and it's highly revealing that Brzezinski would trot out this old libel, especially considering his views on Israel...and that of his old boss, Jimmy Carter.

It's obvious that he swallows this particular conspiracy horse manure, since he's saying that the US should guard Iran's nuclear facilities by shooting down IAF jets over Iraq 'accidentally'.

The White House has yet to say anything about these outrageous remarks. But here's something to consider. Brzezinski is too much of an ignoramus to realize it, but there are other routes the Israelis can use to get to Iran that don't involve going over Iraq, and some of the owners of that particular airspace also have a lot to lose if Iran goes nuclear.

And in the last analysis, if they''re forced to it, the Israelis have cruise missiles and nukes of their own to use. They're less precise and more damaging, but if President Obama is leaning towards Brzezinski's way of thinking, it's an option they'll use. The Israelis will not sit there and wait for Ahmadinejad and Khamenei to push the button first.

*just a note..before anyone crawls from underneath their rock and spends the time and electrons to provide me with a long, poorly spelled comment or e-mail about how those Evil Jooos attacked the Liberty and how it's part of the a Zio-Nazi conspiracy. I've seen almost all of this crap at least once before and debunked it, so I see no reason to bore my readers, waste bandwidth publishing it or to pay any attention to it whatsoever.

There are plenty of other sites for that..and who knows? You might even get an attaboy from an ex-president or his NSA if they're lurking around....

Why would Israel pay anything to the US government or families of the Liberty? Israel did nothing wrong. The Liberty was spying on them. Israel acted as any soverign nation should in defending itself. On the same note, the US pays out money to Afghan and Iraqi familes for deaths. Why should we? We're doing what any soverign naion would be expected to do. We're defending ourselves from an existential threat. We shouldn't restrain ourselves or Israel from acting to defend ourselves.

How is he is a "failure" he created the Afghan trap for the soviet union and bleed them dry.

He is not so much as anti-Semitic as he is impartial and that must drive you Israeli supremacists round the bend. He is more concerned with Eurasia, not so much the middle east.

Ah well, Anonymous 6:26..I think most Americans would disagree with you about how much of a failure Brzezinsky and his boss Jimmy Carter were.

They eviscerated our CIA and our military, allowed major Soviet communist inroads into the Western Hemisphere and Africa, helped destroy our ally the Shah of Iran and brought Khomeni back to Iran, allowed Khomeni to get away with invading a US embassy an dtaking our diplomats hostage, something no other country ever dared to do before while alienating our other ally in the Middle East, Israel...and that's only part of their sorry record.

And your contention that Brzezinski 'planned' the Soviet takeover of Afghanistan is simply untrue. One need merely research the records of the time to see how caught off guard and surprised Carter was by the Soviet invasion.

It's obvious you share Brzezinski and Carter's fetish about a certain US ally in the Middle East populated mostly by Jews.

Fine by me, but just be honest about it. And realize that if Israel were to magically disappear tomorrow, nothing would change except that America would have one less strong ally against its enemies.

Rob

The last sentence of Rob's reply to Anon 6:26 says it all. Also, with America weaker relative to its enemies right now than it has been at any time since some time prior to WWII its vitally important that America have Israel in positionen to act as a buffer between us and our enemies.

If Israel crosses Iraqi air space to take out Iran's nuclear weapons programs, we would expect the Iranian Air Force to engage them. I'm fully confident in Israel's ability to handle the Iranian Air Force. If we attempted to get involved, frankly we would only be in the way.

This is all the more reason for us to completely withdraw from the Middle East to defensible positions along our borders. I don't want our brave men and women involved in these things. Especially when others are better equiped to deal with it and we have such pressing problems right here close to home.

Now as a European (London Irish) that is the kind of talk you want to hear from powerful people in the United States. Excellent byte. Stand up to Israeli aggression.

Yes, the Irish would know all about confronting aggression, wouldn't they?

With apologies to a number of heroic Irishmen who fought Hitler, the fact remains that the Republic was perfectly happy to remain neutral trade with Hitler and refuel and provide a haven for his U-Boats, even when they were killing Irish sailors in the Royal Navy, weren't they? Let alone what he was doing to the Jews. Gutsy!

And I love the bit about Israeli 'aggression'. Every war they've ever fought was defensive in nature, and would have ended in genocide if they'd lost.

Somehow, I get the feeling that wouldn't bother you in the slightest.

Fine by me, but just be more honest about it.
