Keith Olbermann Suspended Indefinitely
MSNBC's very own rabid dog has been suspended indefinitely without pay for violating NBC news's code of ethics by donating to three Democrat candidates, and a pretty putrid lot they were; Arizona congressman Rep. Raul Grijalva, who signed a pro-Hamas letter and urged a boycott of his own home state over Arizona's illegal immigration statute, Left wing Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway.
NBC News has a firm rule against employees contributing to political campaigns, considering it a breach of journalistic ethics.
Part of Obie's problem is not only that he contributed, but that he failed to disclose it. The Politico busted him via an FEC filing, and forwarded it to NBC with a request for comment - hence the immediate suspension. And yes, it does strike me as a bit of a setup.
To add to the comedy, Olbermann has been a harsh critic of the political donations made by Fox News’s parent company, News Corp. to the Republicans.
The scuttlebutt I hear from one of my notorious Little Birdies is that Olbermouth, who is notoriously difficult to deal with behind the scenes on even an ordinary day to day basis has made enough enemies by now that he was due for a comeuppance...especially since Left Wing Rant isn't drawing the ratings like it used to and MSNBC has the much smoother Rachel Maddow for that sort of thing anyway.
Ah well...if worse comes to worse for Olbermouth, there's always NPR.

I have a friend who is a flaming liberal and loves Olberman. He's gonna be bummed. I'm thrilled...
The only bad part about this is that they got to get rid of Olbermann for something like this and not just because 1. He’s the “worst person” on tv and 2. His ratings are horrible.
But if that keeps his smug countenance from making any guest appearances on Sunday Night Football, I’m a happy guy!
I wonder if Rachel Madcow and Chris Tingle will stand in solidarity?
