Christian priest taken hostage and decapitated in Iraq

Today, the decapitated body of an Orthodox Christian priest who was kidnapped Sunday (Oct. 8) was found Wednesday in the northern Iraq city of Mosul.

Relatives of the priest said his captors had demanded a ransom and church apology for recent papal comments about Islam...odd since the Pope has no conection with the Orthodox Church, but I guess any priest of whatever Christian denomination would have served the purpose for these people.

The man's relatives said the priest's church had already posted signs condemning the pope's statement and a similar message was posted again after the abduction. Apparently the dhimmitude does little good when members of the Religion of Peace are fired up to a head choppin' frenzy.

Since the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, U.S. officials in Baghdad said the number of attacks there is up by 15 percent, and that's probably true acroos the country except in Kurdistan. Ramadan ends in two weeks.

This is truly terrible. I'm no Christian, but I feel the utmost compassion for this priest.

Isn't it interesting how American soldiers are called killers when they allegedly commit an atrocity, but when these scumbags do commit atrocities, it's accepted and hardly even mentioned?
