Tales from the dinosaur media as extinction approaches

Two stories hit today that underline how the Main Stream Media is fading into the murk.

The New York Times, known at JoshuaPundit as `the paper of refuse' rather than its rather optomistic self-title as `the paper of record released its 3rd quarter earnings staments today to reveal that the NY Times Co. third quarter profits plunged another 39%.

The Times Co. said it earned $14 million, or 10 cents per share, compared with $23.1 milion, or 16 cents per share, in the third quarter of 2005...quite a drop.

In related news, there were major job cuts announced today at NBC, referred to by Drudge as a `peacock slaughter'. NBC said it would cut over 700 jobs, many from the news department...over 5% of it's workforce.

The funny thing is, people are hungry for objective, well written news, but the MSM continues to dish out the same biased puppychow. You'd think they'd have learned by now.

They haven't learned. That's why Fox News and the bloggers are eating their lunch!
