Shiite militiamen attacked the offices of a new Sunni satellite channel studio in Baghdad killing 11 people today.
The gunmen raided the Shaabiya office early Thursday and killed security guards, technicians and administrative staff, including the head of the board of directors, Abdel-Raheem Nasrallah. The station had not yet gone on the air.
At least another 10 people were killed in further attacks across Iraq. Iraqi Health Ministry figures show 2,650 Iraqi civilian deaths in Baghdad in September – 400 more than August, in spite of the increased US and Iraqi security. Most of the murders are tit-for-tat killings by sectarian death squads.
