'El Baradi and Larijani, sittin' in a tree...k-i-s-s-i-n-g..'

According to the Egyptian paper Al Youm Al Sabeh, the Attorney General of Egypt, Dr. Yasser Najib Abdel Mabboud, has accused Dr. Mohamed El Baradei, former Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency and a candidate in the Egyptian presidential elections, of covertly receiving over $7 million from Iran’s regime as support for ‘political reform in Egypt’.

As some of you may know, El Baradi is running in Egypt's presidential election as the opposition Muslim Brotherhood's candidate against Hosni Mubarak.

Obviously it would be in Iran's interest to have a proven ally of theirs like El Baradi in control of the Egyptian government. One wonders how much money El Baradi has received from the Mullahs over the years to turn a blind eye to their illegal covert nuclear weapons program while El Baradi was head of the UN's IAEA.

It certainly explains a lot.

Oh, the cute couple above? El Baradi and Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani, back when El Baradi ran the IAEA.

Imagine what the response of the media would be had the US attempted to bribe and or coerce a UN official. I can assure the outcry would be loud and furious over even just the accusation. Of course these things have to be proven but the silence is defeaning compared to what it would be if the US were accused of such a thing.
